There are those who have said the World Series of Poker community is like one big dysfunctional family. If that’s true, tomorrow marks the day where that big dysfunctional family has a big dysfunctional reunion. After three Day 1 flights and two Day 2s, Thursday will mark the official Day 3, the first time all of this year’s Main Event players are competing at the same time. It’s going to be a bloody, food-fighting, probably-shouldn’t-have-spiked the watermelon reunion.

See, based on the current rate of play, tomorrow will mark the last day this year on which everyone who busts out will get paid nothing. The Main Event should hit the money on Friday. So, all those poor saps who lose their chips tomorrow will have expended maximum effort for minimum payback. That is to say, for about half of the people who return tomorrow, Thursday is going to suck. A lot.

But with that potential pitfall in place, there is also the chance of great success for a great many Team PokerStars Pros. As we told you last night, eleven Team Pros advanced from Day 2A and 2B. Tonight, four more bagged up chips and will be joining the reunion tomorrow, including big-stacked Christophe de Meulder. Here’s the PokerStars status report headed to Day 3 (we’ll have full chip counts on everyone when they are released by the WSOP).

Advancing from Day 2C: Christophe de Meulder, Jason Mercier, Marcel Luske, and Juan Manuel Pastor.

Advancing from Day 2A and 2B: Pius Heinz, Vicky Coren, Jan Heitmann, Liv Boeree, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Selbst, Eugene Katchalov, Salvatore Bonavena, Alex Kravchenko and Toni Judet.

While those Team Pros are celebrating tonight, they had to bid farewell today to Team Online’s Shane Schleger, Randy Lew, and Fredy Torres, and Team Pros Arnaud Mattern, Angel Guillen, Viktor Blom, Dario Minieri, and Joe Cada.
