And just like that, the World Series of Poker Main Event is in the money. All it took was 15 levels, the elimination of 5,726 players, and one very gracious bubble boy and we’re there.
It’s going to be wise to return to PokerStars Blog tomorrow to see how everyone finished up tonight. They are playing for one hour more, but the place is chaos as the rush to the payouts table has begun.
There are some huge stacks in the room now — the chip leader will likely be closing in on 2 million — and it may easily be Marc-Andre Ladouceur, the Team Pro Online member from Canada.
Every day in this tournament so far has been excellent for Ladouceur, and his stack is in the 1 million region at the moment, which is in the top 20, maybe even top 10, of the remaining players.
Looking over his shoulder, he’ll see fellow Red Spades Liv Boeree (690,000), Jennifer Shahade (615,000), Jason Somerville (442,000) and Aditya Agarwal (205,000).
We will catch up with them all tomorrow.
For the time being, we’re signing off for the night from Las Vegas but will return tomorrow as things go ever deeper.
