Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Season 5

Congratulations to Jordan Scott - Grand Final winner!

The Grand Final of Latin American Poker Tour Season 5 took place in Lima, Peru, and 376 players from 32 different countries registered for the Main Event. That meant a prize pool of $838,860 with 56 places paid. This incredible event signed off Season 5 in style, as the best players from around the region and beyond gathered to do battle.

The big winner was the USA’s Jordan Scott, who entered the final table with the shortest stack, but was able to play his way through to victory. Team PokerStars Pro Nacho Barbero also made a deep run, eventually busting in sixth. Scott took home the trophy and $168,210 in first place prize money.

Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Season 5 Highlights

The first event of Latin American Poker Tour Season 5 took place in Vina del Mar, Chile, and there was a local winner, as Aliro Diaz was crowned champion. Diaz collected $76,560 for the win when he beat fellow Chilean Leonardo Olivares in the heads-up finale, after a six-way final table deal. The end came when Diaz made a full house with J-7 against the A-Q of Olivares.

The LAPT moved on to Punta del Este in Uruguay for the second event of Season 5, and 375 players showed up to contest the Main Event. There was a deep run from Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen, who made it all the way to the heads-up finale, but he eventually lost to the new champion Marcelo Fonseca. Fonseca took home $144,240 for the win, and Guillen collected $126,240 after a three-way deal.

A total of 337 players from 28 different countries contested the Main Event of the LAPT Colombia National Poker Championship in Medellin, creating a total prize pool of 1,248,720,000 COP. PokerStars qualifier Robbie Renehan from Ireland took it down, collecting 264,700,000 COP for first place after he made a deal with his heads-up opponent Jayr Fregona from Brazil. Fregona scooped 200,000,000 COP for second.

Leo Fernandez added another title to his list of achievements when he won the LAPT Panama Main Event for USD $171,930. He beat a field of 338 players from 40 countries to claim his first LAPT victory during the tour’s debut event in Panama. He beat PokerStars player Patrick Mahoney in the heads-up finale, with Mahoney scooping USD $108,700 for runner up spot.
