With 79 days until the kickoff of the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, more than 130 people have already qualified to play in the PCA main event. Chew on that for a second. The PCA is still nearly three months away, and the size of the field is already more than half as big as the first Caribbean Adventure main event.
Back in 2004, 221 people showed up on the Voyager of the Seas cruise ship to slug it out for the PCA main event title. Since the, the PCA has moved to Atlantis, the Caribbean’s biggest resort and casino. The annual PokerStars reunion is one of the biggest events Atlantis hosts all year long and last year was the biggest poker festival in the world outside of Las Vegas.
As of this writing, 136 people have either qualified or otherwise signed up to play in this year’s PCA main event. Not only will they have their chance to win what is expected to be a huge first place prize, but they’ll have a huge and unique schedule put together by some very creative minds. And, for those who don’t mind a little sun, there is this thing the call The Outside, which I’ve heard is very, very nice.
So, you want to be like the first 136 people in line? Hey, me, too! Alas, I cannot, but you can. There are satellites running all the time on PokerStars, including the Mega Path qualifiers that can get you in for just a few Frequent Player Points. For a complete rundown on how you can get your trip and seat on the cheap, visit the 2012 PCA qualifying page.
If you need a little inspiration, I suggest you head on over to PokerStars.tv where you can now see full episodes from last year’s stellar main event. I threw in one of the episodes below to give you a taste.
