The bubble approaches.

Of the 192 entrants into ANZPT Perth’s Main Event, only 36 return today for Day 3, and only 21 will see a return on their investment.

From 12:30pm local time here at Crown Perth we’ll be playing down to a final table, before a winner will be crowned come Sunday night.

Players today will be chasing Michael Kane, who finished yesterday as chip leader. Kane made a late charge to bag up 212,300 in chips and will be looking to continue that trend here on Day 3.

With only six live cashes spread between England and Scotland, today will test if Kane can add an ANZPT payout to the list.

Following closely behind Kane is fellow Brit Stephen Chidwick, who already had an impressive start to the year on Australian soil. He placed fourth in the Aussie Millions $25,000 Event for $250,000 last month. Chidwick starts the day second in chips with 201,900.

Joining Kane and Chidwick on the podium for the start of Day 3 is Team PokerStars pro Bryan Huang. Number one on Singapore’s all-time money list, he’ll have 189,200 in chips at kick off.

After cashing in the Aussie Millions Main Event this year, Huang will no doubt be working to improve on his US$659,192 in total live cashes.

For these three, however, it won’t be an easy ride. With players such as Anthony Legg, Xuan Liu, Stevan Chew, Raiden Kan, Yaxi Zhu and David Lim, the field is still packed with some fierce competition.

We’re about to be underway here with blinds starting at 1,200/2,400 and a 400 chip ante. 36 will become 9 and we’ll be following to see who will survive.
