April has presented many new opportunities for women on the PokerStars tables. The weekly PLO tournaments are doing well, with more new players trying out the games each week. (The $5.50 PLO is on Thursday at 15:00 ET, and the $1.10 PLO is on Sunday at 15:15 ET.) Add to that the new daily $8.80 NLHE tournaments, and players have more options than ever.

With the EPT Grand Final fast approaching, April also brings chances to win €2,300 prize packages to Monte Carlo for the PS Women Live women’s event. The €215 qualifier happens each Sunday, but satellites are available all week for as little as €2.20. Two players – raraha of Slovakia and shanaughty of Canada – have already won their packages, and we look forward to seeing them in Monaco!

And there is always the weekly Women’s Sunday, which continues to be popular with the women of PokerStars. This week was no exception:

Total players: 259
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $12,950.00
Paid finishers: 45

There was a Team PokerStars Pro in action today, and she carried a $50 bounty throughout the action. She ended up busting in the first hour of the tournament, though.

The money bubble burst close to the third hour of play, leaving the top 45 players to reap some rewards for their efforts. A little past the three-hour mark, the field had been reduced to only two tables, but it took nearly an hour to reach hand-for-hand, which happened after the 12th place elimination of roxieforu05 and 11th place exit of hotjenny314.

A few minutes into the next hour, oanhoanh pushed all-in with Q♥ 7♥ from the small blind, and Loubi13 called from the big blind with J♦ 6♣ for 6,402 chips more. The board came J♠ 5♣ 9♥ 3♠ 5♥ , and oanhoanh was eliminated in tenth place with $194.25.

Loubi13 leads final nine

With blinds at 1,500/3,000 and a 300 ante in Level 19, the final table was set with these players and their corresponding chip counts:

Seat 1: OlimpiadAA (142,136 in chips)
Seat 2: RedKo888 (28,360 in chips)
Seat 3: giurza545 (156,871 in chips)
Seat 4: Womble68 (33,312 in chips)
Seat 5: mademinima (28,360 in chips)
Seat 6: hominin (71,717 in chips)
Seat 7: Loubi13 (187,256 in chips)
Seat 8: noahnn (64,802 in chips)
Seat 9: _valitsaki_ (64,186 in chips)

On the very first hand of action, it was folded around to RedKo888 in the small blind, and she moved all-in holding Qâ™  J♥ , and giurza545 called from the big blind with K♦ 10♦ . The flop came 3â™  Kâ™  Jâ™  for the flush draw for RedKo888, but it didn’t deliver on the 9♦ turn or 6♥ river. The pair of kings eliminated RedKo888 in ninth place for $226.62, which was one better than her tenth place just a few weeks ago.

Three hands later, mademinima pushed all-in from the button after an initial raise by OlimpiadAA. for only 16,623 more, OlimpiadAA called with 9♥ 8♥ , at which point mademinima showed K♦ Q♣ . The flop of Q♥ J♦ 10♥ gave mademinima top pair and straight draws, but the 3♥ on the turn made a flush for OlimpiadAA. The 2♥ on the river officially sent mademinima out in eighth place with $310.80.

Then, it was time for some changes at the table. OlimpiadAA continued her climb and took over first place on the leaderboard, and Loubi13 sunk to third place as giurza545 also soared into second place.

Noahnn doubled through hominin to stay in action, but that left the latter with a short stack. Hominin raised all-in a few hands later with 10♣ 8♣ from middle position, and noahnn chose to reraise all-in from the small blind, which prompted the big blind to fold. Noahnn turned over Aâ™  Q♣ , and though the flop of K♦ 7♦ 8♥ gave hominin the advantage, the 6♦ turn led to the Q♥ on the river for noahnn’s queens. Hominin exited today in seventh place with $440.30.

Womble68 was never able to gain much traction and was reduced to a stack of less than 8K before moving all-in UTG. OlimpiadAA raised from the small blind, and giurza545 called from the big blind. The flop came 7♣ 4♥ A♥ , and giurza545 bet. OlimpiadAA check-called, and the Q♦ on the turn prompted the same action. The 10♠ on the river was checked by both players, and OlimpiadAA showed A♣ J♥ for top pair. Giurza545 mucked, and Womble68 mucked before leaving in sixth place with $569.80.

Short-stacked _valitsaki_ returned from the 4.5-hour break and immediately doubled through Loubi13. A few hands later, she tried it again, that time pushing from the big blind with K♦ Jâ™  after noahnn raised from the small blind. Noahnn quickly called with Kâ™  K♥ , though, and nothing about the 2â™  8♣ 7â™  3♣ 4♦ changed the result, as former Women’s Sunday winner _valitsaki_ was eliminated in fifth place with $738.15.

Loubi13 finally found her double-up opportunity at the expense of noahnn:

Noahnn took a big pot from OlimpiadAA, and the latter then took two pots, each worth more than 150K, from giurza545.

But it was noahnn at risk with less than 80K, and she pushed all-in with A♣ 10♦ , only to find that giurza545 was able to call with A♦ K♠ . The board showed nothing of interest with 9♣ 2♦ 7♥ 5♦ 7♣ , and noahnn exited in fourth place with $1,068.37.

OlimpiadAA took a pot worth nearly 272K from giurza545, relegating the latter to a stack of little more than 70K. Giurza545 did double through OlilmpiadAA a bit later, but she moved all-in again two hands later with K♠ 9♠ . OlimpiadAA called with A♠ 10♣ and only bettered her hand to the best flush on the 6♣ 7♣ A♣ K♣ Q♣ board. Giurza545 was gone in third place with $1,424.50.

Quick heads-up finale

The final two players began heads-up play with these stacks:

Seat 1: OlimpiadAA (605,808 in chips)
Seat 7: Loubi13 (171,192 in chips)

And it didn’t take long. Seven hands into the battle, a raise and reraise led to a flop of 2â™  3♥ 3â™  . Loubi13 bet, and OlimpiadAA called. The 8â™  on the turn promped Loubi13 to bet 92,927 chips all-in with Qâ™  9♦ for the spade flush draw, but OlimpiadAA called with Kâ™  J♣ for the better draw. The A♥ on the river ended the tournament with Loubi13 out in second place with $1,877.75.

OlimpiadAA of Russia captured the Women’s Sunday title and $2,505.94 in cash. Congrats!
