Hank Azaria on 'Poker in the Ears'
Home / News / Hank Azaria lends voice for some end-of-year ‘Poker in the Ears’ podcast fun

The Poker in the Ears podcast is ending 2020 in fine form.

Last week came the star-studded 200th episode featuring a who’s who of poker celebrity. This week James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton present their final show of the year with another treat, an interview with the multi-talented and hilarioius Hank Azaria.

Azaria has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including The Birdcage, Heat, Mystery Men, Ray Donovan, Friends, and Brockmire.

In addition to his onscreen appearances, Azaria is probably best known for his voice acting work, in particular on The Simpsons where he’s literally voiced hundreds of different characters over the last 30 years.

Readers of this blog probably also know Azaria is an avid poker player. Indeed, we’ve enjoyed seeing him at the tables several times over the years.

In the interview Azaria talks about his (now legendary) Hollywood home game, the one that eventually led to the Stars CALL for Action Online Celebrity Poker Tournament back in May.

Speaking of, Azaria also provides details regarding another special celebrity poker tournament coming up soon that fans will be able to watch. James and Stapes also get Azaria to consider the possibility of Jim Brockmire — the sports play-by-play man he’s portrayed the last several years — becoming a poker commentator.

The year’s final show also includes a preview of the upcoming Blowout Series on PokerStars as the pair discuss their livestreams (on Twitch and YouTube) covering the Big Blowouts and High Roller events.

In addition, in the “Superfan vs. Stapes” segment finds Paul Andrews from the UK is challenged to demonstrate expert knowledge of the television show Person of Interest in order to win a Sunday Million ticket.
