Home / News / Introducing the High Rollers: 27 Events, $11M Gtd, starting this December

The High Rollers start next month. Ambition, rather than bankroll, might take you a long way…

Back in the old days’ making a name for yourself as a High Roller worked very differently.

You took a seat in a casino cash game, between veteran players who welcomed you like an old friend, but soon took everything you had except ambition.

Humbled (maybe) you tried to pay attention. And maybe over a period of years (never less) your losses gradually became small wins (maybe).

It was a formula that lasted decades, until the internet re-wrote it in the space of a generation.

The new version can catapult a player into the high roller stratosphere overnight. They still need the talent, but the bankroll is less important.

It also happens to be a formula embedded in the very DNA of next month’s High Roller tournament series.

So if you’re already a High Roller, or aspire to be one yourself someday, then you might be interested in what follows…

High Rollers: 27 Events, $11 million Gtd

Here are the key details…

  • Starts Sunday 1 December to Monday 9 December
  • 27 Events over nine days
  • $11 million guaranteed
  • $5,200 Main Event with $2 million guaranteed
  • 6+ Hold’em, 8-Game, and Pot-Limit Omaha events included, as well as Turbo and Prog KO
  • Buy-ins from $530 to $10,300
  • Added seats in satellites, starting at $5.50

Opening Day: $2.1 million Gtd

The Series kicks off on Sunday 1 December, with a $1 million guaranteed 8-Max hold’em tournament.

At $10,300 to play, it’s the biggest of four events on opening day, which combine for $2.1 million in prize money.

That’s not the only highlight. Each day will have one. And all will have an eye-watering guarantee.

Daily headline events at 13:00 ET

These highlights are on the schedule for each day, set to start at the same time every day.

You can check them out yourself in the full schedule below, but here are the main details:

  • Starting at 13:00 ET (6pm UK) every day
  • Each has either a $5,200 or $10,300 buy in
  • All but one has a guarantee of at least $500,000
  • Four events top $1 million guaranteed
  • The exception will be one of the biggest 6+ hold’em contests held online
  • It will feature a $5,200 buy-in, and $250,000 guaranteed

Other highlights: 6+ Hold’em and 8-Game

The 13:00 ET events may be eye-catching, but there are others too.

Like the 8-Game event on Thursday 5 December. That has a $1,050 buy-in and $100,000 guaranteed.

Then there are the two biggest of the three Turbos. Those both play on opening day, and must count as among the quickest ways you can win a share of $300,000.

And for fans of Progressive KO tournaments, you can expect to find one on seven of the nine days on the schedule.

Either way, you’ll find something of interest at the regular start times of 13:00 ET, 14:30 ET, 16:00 ET, with two days adding a 17:00 ET start time.

You no longer need to be a High Roller to play

But if you’re not familiar with the High Roller world, a lot of this might sound like the old days described above.

Can you even think about taking part in an arena so big if your bankroll isn’t at the elite level?

We’re about to tell you why you can.

Because while the High Rollers might sound like an exclusive invitation-only place, that’s categorically not the case.

Win seats for as little as $5.50

This time, being a High Roller could cost some of you as little as $5.50.

That’s how much a seat in one of the special daily feeder satellites will cost you, with a seat in one of those big daily events waiting for you at the end if you make it.

In all there will be $50,000 worth of added seats.

Here’s how they work:

  • Start at the $5.50 level
  • Advance into the $55 level a couple of hours later
  • Then take on the last hurdle – a $530 satellite
  • Win your way into the biggest event of the day

You don’t need anyone to tell you that it’s not an easy route. But it is the cheapest. And it’s open to everyone.

In fact, it might be the best chance you must leapfrog the ten-year apprenticeship and bounce right into High Roller status.

Are you ready to take your shot?

You have just over two weeks to think about it before opening day on Sunday 1 December.

That’s when the first of 27 events begin, with huge guarantees, big name players, and those added satellite winners joining for a $5.50 shot at Goliath.

We expect some familiar winners for sure. But also, some from among a new unheard of generation, taking a seat for the first time, looking at the faces around them, and putting their ambition front and center.

There may even be a new formula by the end of it.
