Today we’re announcing the launch of a brand-new Poker Tour for PokerStars players.

It’s open to anyone, it’s free to play, and there’s no travel involved. In fact, you’ll play while in space, while overlooking Macau, and elsewhere, and all with your feet firmly on the ground.

And some Virtual Reality equipment on your head.

The PokerStars Virtual Realty Poker Tour (VRPT) is the first event of its kind. It’s a free to play event open to all PokerStars players with a VR account.

The first stop will be aboard the Galaxy Space Station for the VRPT Space event. Yes, it’ll be out of this world.

The VRPT then heads for Macau, before the final stop is unveiled at the end of November.

Coming up on the VRPT

Here are some of the highlights:

• Friday September 27: Mini Main Event, a 1 million chip buy-in with a 60 million guarantee
• Saturday September 28: Main Event, a 5 million chip buy-in with a 300 million chip guarantee
• Sunday September 29: Ultra High roller, a 25 million chip buy-in with a 200 million chip guarantee

Winners of each event will become the first players to receive a PokerStars VRPT bracelet for their avatar. They’ll also received points towards the Player of the Year leader board.

How to play

To register for the events, visit Discord in the VRPT channel. But be quick as places are limited. Register now so not to miss out.

There’s an extra bonus for VR players.

We’re looking for our first official PokerStars VR Ambassador. A global, galactic, roving ambassador in a headset, making history as the first person ever to occupy such a role. All without having to put your shoes on.
