Home / Events / Michigan Classic happens this Sunday on PokerStars MI, $500,000 guarantee

PokerStars Michigan just launched in late January. Already the site has hosted the inaugural Michigan Championship of Online Poker.

Now it’s time for an “instant classic” — the first Michigan Classic!

The $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em event shuffles up and deals this Sunday, April 4 at 5 p.m. ET.

It’s a two-day tournament, and the field — and prize pool — should be big. That’s because the Michigan Classic comes with a huge $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Here are the details:

  • Start time: Sunday, April 4, 5 p.m. ET
  • Late registration: first 4 hours, 35 minutes
  • Re-entries: Up to five re-entries during late reg.
  • Starting stack: 100,000 chips (200 big blinds)
  • Levels: 15 minutes
  • Guaranteed prize pool: $500,000

Day 1 will last 7 hours and 45 minutes. Survivors will then return for Day 2 on Monday, April 5 at 7 p.m. ET.

There are plenty of opportunities between now and Sunday to satellite into the tournament as well.

Check the tournament lobby and find multiple satellites into the Michigan Classic happening each day.

There is also a special $30 buy-in Michigan Classic Mega Satellite on Saturday, April 3 at 8:15 p.m. ET. This satellite guarantees at least 20 seats into the big one.

Additionally, don’t overlook the Michigan Classic Depositor Freeroll happening a few hours before the big one on Sunday, April 4 at 2 p.m. ET. That one is free to play and will award 200 seats into the Michigan Classic, a value of $60,000!

To take part in the Michigan Classic Depositor Freeroll, all players have to do is make a deposit of at least $30 into their accounts using the code “CLASSIC,” and they’ll receive a ticket to play. Make that deposit by 1:59 p.m. ET on April 4 to get the seat.

That first MICOOP saw guarantees crushed from start to finish. The 60-event series originally had $1 million in total guarantees, but by the end more than $2.2 million was won in the series.

How many will play the first Michigan Classic, and how big will the prize pool be? Stay tuned!
