One of the contests that has flown under the radar this year has been the PokerStars Championship Player of the Year.
Unlike other years this has taken on an event specific formula, with the winner of each event leader board (rather than a season long one) earning a $16,000 VIP Point package to the PCA (including flights, accommodation, some cash, and Main Event entry) where they’ll contest a winner-takes-all event to win $100,000.
You can find all the individual Player of the Year leader boards by clicking here, but as you might expect the line-up is already looking pretty good.
Leader board winners
Bahamas: Bryn Kenney
Panama: Chris Hunichen
Macau: Nick Petrangelo
Monte Carlo: Daniel Dvoress
Sochi: Vladimir Troyanovsky
That leaves two more spots to fill, the next of which will be at Barcelona which kicks off at the end of this week. It also leaves one hell of a sit and go to play out at the PCA in January.
All right so it’s a long shot that you’d win the PoY standings in Barcelona just days after opening a PokerStars account, but you could say it’s the first step. If you’re looking to get startd simply click here to open an account.
In a bid to get this contest flying up and above the radar, we’ll be keeping tabs on the Barcelona leader board when events kick off with the Super High roller event on Saturday, with updates as the Championship progresses.
In the meantime, you can find more about this on the Player of the Year homepage.
