As a child, I’d cry when the Peanuts cartoons rolled the credits. In my little half-formed soul, I knew that seeing the “by Charles Shultz” at the end mean I was going to have to wait a very long time before Charlie Brown and Snoopy were on TV again (yes, Virginia, there was a time before DVRs and something we used to call a VCR). It was such a display that I’m amazed my parents ever let me sit down in front of a TV. And yet, every time “The Great Pumpkin” or Christmas special came on television, there was your future PokerStars Blog correspondent sitting down, wide-eyed and happy (for up to thirty minutes, after which I would again become a blubbering mess).

This is poker’s version of the Peanuts hiatus.

After a September so glorious it can barely be considered without an inspired tear, the 2010 World Championship of Online poker is but a memory. Gone are the days of non-stop championship action. WCOOP is just something fantastic that happened, a kiss from a beautiful stranger that left you wanting more.

Well, that may be overstating it a little. WCOOP was great, by all means. There is nothing that compares. But, PokerStars is still around the there is action aplenty, especially on the weekends.

After all, how can it be a let down when people are winning money like they do in the Sunday Million?

See, that’s the kind of spirit we’re looking for around here! Every day can’t be Christmas. Get on that horse and ride it into each day’s sunset like it’s your own personal WCOOP.

Or something like that.

Oh, you came here looking for results? We have those, too.

  • sola100 survives frantic final table to capture 10/3 Sunday Million
  • Sunday Warm-up: ThePokerBody muscles out competition and wins $136K
  • If that’s not enough to keep you happy and sated for the next few days, we have results from about 28 other tournaments, too.

For a complete rundown of all the big action from the weekend, check out our 10/3/10 PokerStars Sunday tournament results page.

    Good luck this week!
