Home / Uncategorized / PokerStars weekend review: Agrobot_388Z does the double, Neuville, Bach, Finger and Vamplew all bink

Did you follow the Red Spade open last weekend? More than 32,000 people entered the $55 tournament and with just four players remaining a Kazakhstani player called Agrobot_388Z took the largest slice of a five-way pie. They collected $225,689 and eventually finished second. That was last week. Agrobot_388Z followed that up with a win in the Sunday Million for $224,550. That’s close to half-a-million dollars in a week and, to put it into context, that’s the equivalent of more than 54 years of average salary in the Kazakh republic.* You can watch that final table here.

*According to the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Sunday Million final table

Agrobot_388Z wasn’t the only big winner, which you can see by clicking on the weekend results. Plaudits also go to friend of PokerStars Pierre “Zoutechamp” Neuville who booked a Sunday Warm-Up final table (8th, $8,837) which was won by bar-bar9999 for $106,101. Read the full Sunday Warm-Up report here.

Pierre Neuville: double EPT runner-up

David “Gunslinger3” Bach booked a nice double win in two smaller field $215 events for a few thousand dollars highlighting exactly why he’s such a likely candidate to win the first ever PokerStars Grand Slam. SCOOP leader board winner Eric ‘AceQuad’ Brix took third in one of those. You can read about his seven final tables of the Spring Championship of Online Poker here.

Martin “0PIGGYBANK” Finger took fourth in the Sunday 500 for $29,181. Finger sits alongside Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Jason Mercier as the only players to have won an EPT Main Event and High Roller titles. Fellow EPT champ David “davidv1213” Vamplew also had a good weekend with a $22,312 win in the $215 Weekly Turbo NLHE, $65K Gtd. Maybe he’d been galvanized into action by Daniel Negreanu’s critique.
