Who’s up for a little Triple Draw on a Tuesday? Event 28 showed that quite a few players wanted some of that action in the form of FL Triple Draw 2-7.

Event 28-L offered that game for a mere $27 buy-in but with a $25K guarantee. So many players were interested that they blew the guarantee far out of the water, allowing nearly 200 finishers to be paid and close to $6K set aside for the winner.

The final numbers for the tournament were:

Players: 1,473
Guarantee: $25,000.00
Total prize pool: $36,162.15
Paid players: 192

Action played down to just two tables around the eight-hour mark, and play was slow and steady toward the final table. But it took less than an hour to reach hand-for-hand play, which happened when w4ts exited in eighth place.

PainInZeAce was short-stacked and moved all-in after the first draw. Guns_n_fight called and stood pat for the next two draws with 67295. PainInZeAce discarded one, then stood pat and showed 824610. But that was only good for a seventh place finish and the $542.43 that went with it.

Guns_n_fight starts with chip lead

The final table then began at the start of Level 33, with blinds at 30K/60K and these players and chip counts:

Seat 1: guns_n_fight (1,483,350 in chips)
Seat 2: jekalezuster (949,069 in chips)
Seat 3: TurnRiva (1,868,959 in chips)
Seat 4: komanci22 (1,408,438 in chips)
Seat 5: GARYTHEROCK (1,199,440 in chips)
Seat 6: Kiko197012 (455,744 in chips)

GARYTHEROCK suffered a great deal of chip loss in the first rounds of play, damaged in nearly every hand in which involved. Down to just 22,200 chips, GARYTHEROCK called all-in before the first draw, and everyone except Kiko197012 called, and komanci22 checked. After the first draw, TurnRiva bet, and only jekalezuster called. Each player took one card on the second draw, and the same betting ensued. Finally, TurnRiva stood pat with 431078, but jekaluster took one more card and showed 65297 for the win. GARYTHEROCK mucked and left in sixth place with $983.61.

Komanci22 took a pot worth 682,500 chips from jekalezuster to jump into the lead, while the latter lost another big hand involving Kiko197012 and TurnRiva. However, a near-double-up through Kiko197012 a bit later put jekalezuster back in contention.

Kiko197012 was very short but doubled through guns_n_fight twice in the course of just a few hands. Kiko197012 then lost most of those chips to guns_n_fight and moved all-in again. Guns_n_fight, jekalezuster and komanci22 called and checked the first and second draws. A bet and call happened after the third draw, to which guns_n_fight folded. Komanci22 showed 26358 to collect the side and main pots, while Kiko197012 mucked and left in fifth place with $1,482.64.

Chop it up!

At the 10-hour break, some players wanted to see deal numbers, and they all finally agreed to check them out. The game was officially paused, and after 10 minutes, they had a deal! With an additional $500 set aside for the winner, they agreed to these payouts:

Seat 1: guns_n_fight (2,214,608 in chips) = $4,807.46
Seat 2: jekalezuster (1,643,769 in chips) = $3,793.44
Seat 3: TurnRiva (1,947,709 in chips) = $3,972.53
Seat 4: komanci22 (1,558,914 in chips) = $3,037.70

Play resumed.

Guns_n_fight lost ground upon their return, and jekalezuster took a pot worth 1.53 million chips from guns_n_fight. A few rounds later, another million left guns_n_fight to go to jekalezuster’s stack. Komanci22 doubled through guns_n_fight, and the latter finally got involved with TurnRiva in a bit pot. Guns_n_fight was all-in after the first draw and ended up with 5Q482. But TurnRiva showed 92687 to eliminate guns_n_fight in fourth place with $4,807.46.

Komanci22 doubled through TurnRiva to survive again but lost ground thereafter. All three players got involved in a capped pot, and TurnRiva and komanci22 each took two cards to the one of jekalezuster on the first draw. A bet was met by two calls, at which point jekalezuster stood pat, and the other two took two more cards each. Jekalezuster bet again, and TurnRiva folded, but komanci22 was all-in. Komanci22 took one more card and showed 38942, but jekalezuster had 62385 for the win. Komanci22 was out in third place with $3,037.70.

TurnRiva goes for second SCOOP

The two finalists took their seats with these stacks:

Seat 2: jekalezuster (4,634,425 in chips)
Seat 3: TurnRiva (2,730,575 in chips)

After 30 minutes of play and exchanging chips, these were the chip counts:

Seat 2: jekalezuster (4,563,850 in chips)
Seat 3: TurnRiva (2,801,150 in chips)

TurnRiva subsequently took the lead but jekalezuster grabbed it right back and soared. The two then got into a capped betting situation, at which point jekalezuster took two cards and TurnRiva discarded one. Jekalezuster bet, and TurnRiva called all-in. They each discarded one on each of the next two draws, and TurnRiva showed 56424, but jekalezuster had 59673 for the win. Tim “TurnRiva” Marsters was denied his second SCOOP title but left with $3,972.53 for second place.

Jekalezuster won the SCOOP title, watch, and $4,293.44 in cash. Congrats!
