The news for the day after TCOOP; a long list of players added their name to the TCOOP honour roll this weekend, chief among them maxv2 who won the Main Event. Meanwhile it was caprioli who finished top of the leader board. He was seldom off top spot and finished with style. That brings TCOOP to a close for another year.

The headlines from the day after TCOOP 2017
Looking back on the final weekend of TCOOP 2017 there are too many stories to list here (although I’ll have a go in just a second). Suffice it to say it was a dramatic weekend of poker on PokerStars with winners known and unknown in online poker circles. Here are some of those highlights.

Joao ‘IneedMassari’ Simao of Brazil won Event #51 which came with an $11,381.63 first prize. There was also a win for former Team Pro Kosei “shinbunshi” Ichinose, who won Event #53.
Timonpoika of Finland had a great weekend. Not only did he win Event #52 he nearly did the same in the Main Event, finishing second to eventual winner maxv2 (more on that below). Vicente “vicenfish” Delgado Zamorano won his second High Roller COOP event in Event #61, which Rodrigo Caprioli Caprioli locked up the Player of the Series title by finishing third in Event 60.
TCOOP Main Event
Maxv2 emerged victorious in the TCOOP Main Event, which featured a $3.4 million prize pool from an enormous field of 3,583 players.
As Martin Harris reported, it was all about efficiency, with the Main Event done inside of seven hours, adding up to a $72,000 hourly rate for maxv2, who took the lot, there having been no deal.

You can read the full report of that victory here.

Final leader board standings
It’s not that we had any favourites on the leader board, just that there something to be said for recognising players who perform consistently well throughout a Championship like TCOOP. This year that player was Rodrigo “caprioli” Caprioli.
He smashed it, finishing top with 400 points after keeping himself in contention every single day. He capped it off this weekend by finishing third in Event #60, which secured him a 35 point lead ahead of second place Lena900. You can read our interview with caprioli (who won Event #11 earlier in the series). It was there he spoke of his goal to win top spot, which he duly did.
Congratulations to him. Here’s how things finished at the top.

You can check out the leader board in full on the TCOOP homepage.
Vaguely interesting TCOOP facts from 2017
• maxv2 was the highest earner of TCOOP 2017, with $489,075.72, all of which came from his Main Event win.
• ImluckNuts finished with the most number of cashes with 23. That was four more than Robin “robinho” Ylitalo with 19.
• Caprioli and Lena900 both reached three final tables.
• British players amassed the most prize money over the course of TCOOP 2017, earning a combined $2,025,192. That was nearly half a million more than Russian players, who topped the table for total cashes with 1,647. They also reached 46 final tables, five more than second placed Canada.
• Finally, Brazilian players scored the most wins with seven, one more than payers from Canada, Netherlands and Sweden.

That went to Rocco “Sephirot88” Palumbo who took the biggest share of a five way deal, amounting to more than $95,000. See the full result below.
