The news for opening day; five events start and all finish to get the Championship under way with wins for kaneoya and Muke82 of Brazil, as well as ratajpoker, Pokerfan_lol and kZhh. That put kaneoya on top of the Leaderboard, if only by virtue of the alphabet. Five more events start today.

The headlines from the 1st day of TCOOP 2017
It only takes a day of TCOOP to feel like you’re already deep into the Championship. Given the nature of what it’s all about we didn’t have long to wait for a first winner. Renato Akio “Kaneoya” Kaneoya of Brazil took the first title and $75,711 (the biggest prize of the day). A short while later countryman Murilo “Muka82” Figueirdo did the same in Event #2, a PLO Hi/Lo contest which you can read about here.

The field of 4,944 for Event #3 looked pretty big until Event #4 eclipsed it with a field of 10,940. The former was one by Polish player ratajpoker who collected $45,797 while the latter was won by Lithuanian Pokerfan_lol. One can only assume the first prize in excess of $22,000 gave him even more to laugh about.
The day’s TCOOP action was brought to a close with a Bubble Rush event won by kZhh of Hungary. Their share of the prize pool was $32,435 after a three-way deal. You’ll find the full report of that event by clicking here.
