A win (almost two) for Wistern

While Sundays provide the most unmissable grinds of the week, PokerStars Team Pro Lasse “Wistern” Jagd Lauritsen proved it can pay to get in the mix on Saturdays too.

On July 17, Wistern came very close to taking down two tournaments within minutes of one another. He’d ultimately have to settle for one trophy, emerging victorious from the Hot $44 PKO for $1,083 ($423 for 1st + $659 in bounties).

The odds were stacked against him when he entered heads-up at a big chip disadvantage. But he got the ball rolling with this double up:

Then he found another with the nuts:

And finally, he was able to close out the comeback:

At the same time, Wistern was grinding the Hot $55 PKO and reached the final table in that one too. He knocked out this opponent:

And took it down to heads-up:

Alas, the second trophy wasn’t to be. Still, Wistern picked up $964 ($525 + $438 in bounties) for his runner-up finish.

All in all, a very successful Saturday.

Naigo1 wins third Sunday Major

Mark “Naigo1” Foresta can’t stop winning at the moment.

Over the past few weeks, he’s already won trophies in the Sunday Storm and Sunday Special on PokerStars PA. This past Sunday (July 18) he added another title to his CV.

Foresta found himself on the final table of the Half Price Sunday Supersonic — a $25 NLHE [Hyper-Turbo] — and managed to triple up with five players remaining:

From there it seemed to be written in the stars:

Foresta took it down for $1,491. Three down, three to go.
