Home / PSPC / Vamos! Vamos! Brazilian Paulo Milani becomes first double Platinum Pass winner

Last year during BSOP Florianopolis, Paulo Milani was one of the online players who was drawn to play the special All-In/Fold tournament, which had a Platinum Pass as a prize. The Brazilian secured the victory and won the right to play the first edition of the PokerStars Players Championship in January of this year in the Bahamas. His prize was a $25,000 tournament buy-in plus accommodation at the Atlantis Resort.

Milani was one of more than 320 players from around the world who received a Platinum Pass, and when PSPC 2020 was announced seven months after everyone got home from the Bahamas, all of them must have begun to wonder what it would be like to win this gem for the second time.

Days ago, Milani found out. He was not only the first Brazilian to secure a guaranteed place in Barcelona for the second renewal of this tournament, he became the first player in the world to get a second Platinum Pass!

The second achievement came via the Mega Path for PSPC 2020, an online tournament sequence that starts with a $2 Spin & Go and ends with a package for the world’s largest high roller tournament. This time the package includes a €22,500 buy-in for PSPC 2020, six nights of accommodation for him and a guest at a five-star hotel, airport shuttle, PSPC custom merchandise, and €1,250 for expenses during the event.

“I think it hasn’t hit me completely yet,” the 55-year-old from Brasilia told PokerStars Blog. “Now that the news is out I’ll be able to see the reaction. I won the Platinum Pass on Sunday, September 29, and I was traveling. As I came straight to BSOP Gramado, I haven’t been home yet and seen any of my friends.”

Having had a remarkable experience in the Bahamas, Milani is now looking forward to visiting somewhere new. “I don’t know Barcelona, so my expectation is very good, I think I’ll enjoy the trip a lot,” he said. “And also the event, which I believe will continue to be bigger and better than the first, with an even bigger field.”

Although he was also the first Brazilian to win the Platinum Pass, Paulo hopes not to be the only one. “I hope you find even more Brazilians than in the first edition. And it is a great honour to be able to play this event again with them. I would like to see as many Brazilians as possible at the event, because the previous edition was great with them all.”

The PSPC will be held in Barcelona from August 20-24 at Casino Barcelona. Visit the official PSPC page to learn how you can secure your seat!
