We expected winners of Platinum Passes to have a broad range of experience – everyone from the recreational players to the seasoned pro.
But when the draw was made today for the wild card winner of the latest Platinum Pass, picked from practically everyone who played this year’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, nobody was really expecting someone quite so familiar.
Joe Stapleton made the random draw, and looking down at the ticket with the winner’s name on it couldn’t hide a grin as he read out the name: David Peters. The crowd that had gathered was just as amused.

Peters had already had a successful PCA, going not quite as deep as he would have liked in the PCA Main Event, but cashing in 11th place for $75,640. This though capped off the festival for the high stakes regular, who’s now already looking forward to a return to the Bahamas in 12 months from now.
