* Ted Jackson-Spivack wins the last ever UKIPT event in Birmingham

Sunday Million

It’s the biggest online event of the week and because of that takes the best part of 12 hours to complete, often finishing in the early hours of the morning. But arguably it was won in 18 minutes this week which, as Jason Kirk reported, was about the length of the hot streak that turned EVERFR0ST from a wall flower into the star of the week, and the newest Sunday Million champion.

UKIPT Birmingham

Just like the weekend prior there was live PokerStars action to settle as well as that online. All of which was taking place at the last ever UKIPT festival in Birmingham, England.

The UKIPT started back in late 2009 and over the course of six seasons has crowned numerous winners, some twice, and others who used it as a spring board to careers that include EPT and World Series wins, and regular appearances in the High Roller contests of world poker.

So it was with some sadness that the UKIPT enjoyed its final hurrah, albeit before the branding is changed, along with the name, and UK events become part of the PokerStars Festival world. Gone then, but not entirely forgotten.

That certainly applies to the winner also, Ted Jackson-Spivack, who defeated UKIPT (and now EPT) regular Ludovic Geilich to a first prize of £35,000 at the Star Casino in Birmingham. Our reporting team of Marc Convey and Nick Wright were courtside from the start with live updates from each day available here. To read the recap of that final table, click here.
