PokerStars has been busy promoting ladies events in recent months. First there was the success at EPT London, then it turned its attentions towards the PCA. With a big build up, the $1,000 two-day event here attracted an impressive 91 entries. And, when it was all done and dusted, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso took the title.

Rousso had been the dominant force throughout the tournament, and it was no great surprise when she ended up beating Halli Pinson heads-up to take the $24,725 first prize. Pinson got $13,815 for the runner-up spot.

It makes for a nice start to 2010 for Rousso, who would be happy to match last year’s tournament winnings of $1,350,000.

The field had been a strong one with the likes of Team PokerStars Pros Sandra Naujoks, Maria Mayrinck, Veronica Dabul and Katja Thater taking to the tables. Also playing was Annette Obrestad and Liv Boeree.
