There will be no repeat champion this Macau Millions.

After getting chipped down to 10,000, reigning champion Shaq Lin managed to get back up to average before getting eliminated.

Faced with a raise to 5,500 from the hijack, Lin moved all-in for 38,500 from the small blind. The hijack quickly called and turned over 9♣ 9♦ to Lin’s A♣ Qâ™  . A flip ensued and Lin took the lead when the flop came K♥ 6â™  Q♥ .

Lin needed to dodge a nine but the turn brought just that, a 9♥ . The river brought a deceptive Q♦ and Lin was eliminated.

Lin took down the last Macau Millions and won HKD $400,000, but couldn’t make it to Day 2 this year.

While Lin couldn’t make it once, Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang is hoping to make it twice. Huang had the lead for a bit yesterday but then had a rocky end of day and finished with 94,000. Huang is now up to 105,000.

Some players are starting to cross the 100,000 mark and a few have gone far beyond that. Two players at Shaq Lin’s old table are close to the lead. Yuk Fai Lai has around 125,000 while Taiming Ou has chipped up to 140,000.

Taiming Ou, along with about one-third of the field, comes from China. China was the most represented country this tournament with 629 players, about 35 percent of the field. Last time the tournament was held, Hong Kong had the most players.

Now Hong Kong placed a distant second with 246 players, nearly 14 percent of the field. The hometeam of Macau only represented 3 percent of the field with 55 players. Taiwan takes third place with 112 players followed by Korea, who had 95 representatives.

Russia rounded off the top five with 66 players.

The United Kingdom was the most represented European country, coming in 14th with 35 players. They were just behind the Americans, who totalled 36 players this tournament. In all, 54 countries from six continents took part in the 2014 Macau Millions.

A few of those countries were represented by lone troopers. Azerbaijan, Chile, Croatia, Mexico, Portugal, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates all had one player in the tournament.

All you need is one.
