Congratulations Ka Shing Wong; winner of the ACOP Warm-up and HK$1,414,700!
Ka Shing Wong is lifting the trophy after three days of play. He overcame a field of 267 entrants to claim the title and HK$1,414,700.

11:30pm: Shyngis Satubayev eliminated in 2nd place (HK$908,400)
Level 27 – Blinds: 25,000/50,000 (ante 5,000)
The tournament has now come to a close after Shyngis Satubayev couldn’t overcome Ka Shing Wong in the heads up battle.
Satubayev began that match with a 7:1 lead but two hours later he had finished runner up. The final hand saw Wong open shove on the button to cover Satubayev’s roughly 750,000 and Satubayev called it off to see he was flipping.
Satubayev: A♣ 7♦
Wong: 5♥ 5♣
It was a fair fight but the pocket fives would hold on the 2♠K♥ 2♥ Q♥ K♦ runout.
Satubayev would have to be content with HK$908,400 for his second place finish.
11:20pm: Satubayev dips below 1 million
Level 27 – Blinds: 25,000/50,000 (ante 5,000)
It didn’t seem possible at the beginning of the match. Shyngis Satubayev had such a commanding lead that we expected things to be over in a matter of minutes.
Now Satubayev has dipped below the seven-figure mark for the first time this heads-up match. The chips came from several pots, death by a thousand flops. In one, Satubayev raised to 165,000 from the button and Wong called. Wong then bet 130,000 on the J♦ 8♣ 10♥ flop and Satubayev called. Wong then bet 180,000 after the 9♣ came on the turn and Satubayev folded.
Wong raised to 160,000 the following hand and Satubayev called. Wong then took that pot down with a continuation bet of 150,000. On and on it went and Satubayev’s stack quickly dwindled.
Then Wong took a bigger chunk. Wong, again, raised to 160,000 from the button and Satubayev called. The flop came 9♠5♦ Q♠and Satubayev checked. Wong continued for 150,000 and this time Satubayev raised to 400,000. Wong had one more rick under his sleeve though: all-in.
Satubayev folded and was left with about 800,000 while Wong took a massive lead with 3.1 million. –AV
11pm: Satubayev closing the gap
Level 27 – Blinds: 25,000/50,000 (ante 5,000)
Shyngis Satubayev is fighting back – this time he took down a pot with some postflop aggression.
Ka Shing Wong button-raised to 150,000 and Satubayev defended to see a flop of 5♥ 8♠8♥ . Satubayev checked it and Ka Shing Wong continued for 160,000, but Satubayev had other ideas, raising it up to 460,000.
Wong couldn’t contest with that and he let it go to drop to 2.35 million to Satubayev’s 1.65 million.
10:40pm: Shifty lead and shifty chips
Level 27 – Blinds: 25,000/50,000 (ante 5,000)
And just like that, Ka Shing Wong has taken back the lead.
It was a big pot that started with a raise to 180,000 from Wong. Shyngis Satubayev called from the big blind and then checked the A♠9♣ 8♣ flop. Wong bet 170,000, Satubayev called and a 9♠came on the turn.
This time it was Satubayev who put out a bet, this one was worth 260,000. Wong called and an A♣ completed the board. Satubayev checked one more time and Wong moved all-in for 1.34 million. It was too much for Satubayev and he folded, leaving himself with 1.45 million while Wong took the lead with nearly 2.5 million.
Satubayev thinks he had a bit more though. Satubayev said 50,000 he’d put down for the next blind got taken in by the dealer when he raked the massive pot to Wong. The clock stopped while tournament staff went to go check the cameras. The evidence was inconclusive, but Satubayev was adamant he was missing 50,000.
Wong agreed to give 25,000 to Satubayev so the tournament could continue. –AV
10:20pm: Back and forth
Level 27 – Blinds: 25,000/50,000 (ante 5,000)
Ka Shing Wong kept up the momentum since doubling up and even rallied to find himself with a brief stint in the lead. Shyngis Satubayev has since taken it back, however, after a preflop four-bet in the hand just gone.
Satubayev opened to 110,000 on the button before Wong reraised to 300,000 from the big blind. Satubayev sat for over a minute before reaching deep and sliding forward a tower of chips worth 735,000.
That was enough to make Wong give it up. He dropped to 1.85 million while Satubayev now has 2.15 million at his disposal.
9:55pm: Early double for Wong
Level 26 – Blinds: 20,000/40,000 (ante 5,000)
First action in the first hand of heads-up? All-in of course.
Shyngis Satubayev, our massive chip leader, started the match with the button and moved all-in with 7♠6♥ . He was ready to gamble. Ka Shing Wong looked down at A♠8♠and decided it was worth a call.
The 9♥ 4♦ A♣ J♣ 8♦ board gave Wong two-pair and a chance to get back in the game. Wong took down a few more pots after that and is now up to 1.25 million to Satubayev’s 2.65 million. This has also allowed Wong to get out of the desperate all-in mode and players are even making it to the flop in some cases. –AV
9:35pm: Break
Players are now on a 10-minute break before the heads-up match starts.
9:35pm: Jamie Lunt eliminated in 3rd place (HK$580,800)
Level 26 – Blinds: 20,000/40,000 (ante 5,000)
It was an unfortunate end for Jamie Lunt who ultimately got it in good but couldn’t fade the run out.
Big stack Shyngis Satubayev open jammed on the button with enough to cover both opponents and Lunt woke up with a big hand in the big blind and called it off.

Lunt: A♥ K♦
Lunt was in a commanding position and looked good to double up until a ten hit the turn on the 3♣ 7♦ 9♠10♥ Q♦ runout.
Lunt wished the final two good luck before heading for the exit. That elimination takes us to heads up where Satubayev has a huge chip advantage of around 3.47 million to Ka Shing Wong’s 535,000.
9:20pm: Mini rollercoaster for Lunt
Level 26 – Blinds: 20,000/40,000 (ante 5,000)
Three-handed play has been a rollercoaster for Lunt, albeit a rollercoaster that stays at the bottom of the chip counts.
After doubling up, Lunt dipped back down after losing a big pot to Ka Shing Wong. Lunt raised to 80,000 from the button that hand and Wong called from the big blind. The flop came 8♦ 4♥ A♣ and Lunt bet 50,000 when checked to. Wong called and then both players checked the 8♣ on the turn.
This brought a 3♣ on the river and Wong fired a final bet worth 110,000. Lunt called and then mucked when Wong showed K♥ 8♥ for trip 8s. The hand left Lunt with about 375,000, but then he worked his way back up to 650,000.
Lunt moved all-in four times, twice as a three-bet, and never got a caller. He took down all those pots and nearly doubled without ever having to be all-in. His friends are also on the rail, with a few beers and cheers handy for Lunt. –AV
8:40pm: Lunt doubles through Satubayev
Level 25 – Blinds: 15,000/30,000 (ante 5,000)
Jamie Lunt is back in the game after doubling up through chip leader Shyngis Satubayev.
Satubayev limped the button and Lunt checked in the big blind to see a flop of 6♣ 10♦ 3♣ . Both players checked and the 8♠arrived on the turn.
Lunt led for 55,000 and Satubayev called to take them to the 3♥ river.
Lunt then moved all in for 200,000 which sent Satubayev deep into the tank. After over three minutes deliberation Satubayev peeked back at his cards and still hadn’t made a decision. After another minute went by Lunt eventually called the clock and a tournament official began counting down from sixty. With just one second left to spare Satubayev tossed in a call and saw the bad news as Lunt tabled 10â™ 8♥ for top two pair.
“Let’s go baby!” cried one of Lunt’s railbirds as the man they came to watch moved up to a stack of 620,000.
8:20pm: Satubayev sliding higher
Level 25 – Blinds: 15,000/30,000 (ante 5,000)
Shyngis Satubayev’s lead keeps on growing. Most of the pots are being settled preflop and Satubayev is doing his job raising and three-betting several of them to add to his already large lead.
In one of those hands, Ka Shing Wong raised to 65,000 from the button and Satubayev threw in a re-raise to 195,000. Wong thought for a bit and called, bringing a 3♥ A♠6♥ flop. Satubayev continued for 125,000 and it was too much for Wong.
That pot and a few others put Satubayev over the 2.4 million mark as his opponents battle for the remaining 1.5 million chips in play. –AV
8:00pm: Weiran Pu eliminated in 4th place (HK$461,670)
Level 25 – Blinds: 15,000/30,000 (ante 5,000)
Weiran Pu didn’t last long in level 25.
Pu had less than 10 big blinds and was looking to get a stack. He moved all-in once and got no callers, but then he found a customer the next one. Pu moved all-in for 260,000 from the cutoff that hand and Jamie Lunt re-shoved from the button. The blinds got out of the way and we had another showdown.
Pu showed A♥ 8â™ and Lunt turned over a dominating A♣ Q♦ . The 5â™ 4♥ Jâ™ 6♣ 6♥ board missed both players and Lunt’s ace-queen high took down the pot. Pu won HK$461,670 for finishing 4th and the tournament went three-handed. –AV

7:35pm: Scheduled break
Players have left the tournament area for a 15-minute break.
7:34pm: Ping Lin eliminated in 5th place (HK$348,500)
Level 24 – Blinds: 12,000/24,000 (ante 4,000)
Ping Lin had been peddling a short stack for quite some time and was finally taken out by tablemate Jamie Lunt.
It was the final hand before the break and we were on the river with Lin trying to simply muck and surrender. Lunt seemed happy with that but they were forced to show as it was an all-in situation.
Lin sheepishly revealed air while Lunt tabled A♦ 7♦ . His flopped top pair was more than enough and Lin was sent to the payout desk to collect HK$348,500.
7:25pm: Jin Xin eliminated in 6th place (HK$282,900)
Level 24 – Blinds: 12,000/24,000 (ante 4,000)
Jamie Lunt is back in the game after doubling up and then knocking out Jin Xin.
Lunt got his double up after he three-bet all-in from the big blind. Ka Shing Wong, who had raised from the button, called and showed J♦ J♥ to Lunt’s Q♥ 10â™ .
Lunt hit a queen on the flop and turn of a Q♦ 9♥ 8♣ Q♣ 4♣ board and doubled up to about 700,000 while Wong dipped to 950,000.
Then Lunt took out Jin Xin.
Lunt raised from the button that hand and a short-stacked Xin moved all-in for about 130,000 from the small blind. Lunt called and showed K♦ 10♥ to Xin’s A♣ 2♣ .
Xin was in the lead and improved to a pair on the 2♦ J♣ Q♥ flop, but Lunt had a straight draw. An A♣ on the river completed that draw and Lunt chipped up to 850,000 while Xin took home HK$282,900 for finishing 6th. –AV
7:10pm: Back to back jams
Level 24 – Blinds: 12,000/24,000 (ante 4,000)
There has been a lull in action of late but we did just witness two all-in shoves in a row.
The first saw players fold around to Jamie Lunt in the cutoff and he stuck his stack in the middle. The rest of the table quickly folded and the pot was pushed his way.
The very next hand it folded around to Ping Lin in the small blind and he jammed for 122,000. That proved too much for Ka Shing Wong who let it go in the big blind.
6:50pm: Satubayev sailing ahead
Level 23 – Blinds: 10,000/20,000 (ante 3,000)
Shyngis Satubayev raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Ka Shing Wong called from the small blind. Weiran Pu made it three by calling from the big blind and players went to the 5♦ 8♥ 6♣ flop.
Satubayev bet 60,000 when checked to and Pu called while Wong folded.
The 5♠came on the turn and Satubayev upped the bet to 95,000. Pu called again and a 7♠completed the board. This time both players slowed to a check and Wong showed 8♦ 7♥ for two-pair while Satubayev had a rivered straight with 9♦ 9♣ .
The pot extended Satubayev’s lead to 1.3 million while Pu dropped to about 550,000.–AV
6:20pm: A lot for Lunt
Level 23 – Blinds: 10,000/20,000 (ante 3,000)
Another double.
Ka Shing Wong raised to 45,000 from the button and Weiran Pu re-raised to 140,000 from the small blind. Jamie Lunt called all-in for 129,000 from the big blind and Wong folded.
Lunt showed 5♣ 5♥ and was flipping against Pu’s A♦ J♦ . The 7â™ 2♥ 4♥ 6♣ 2â™ board didn’t bring any help for Pu and Lunt doubled to about 320,000 while Pu dipped to 700,000. –AV
6:05pm: Another Lin win
Level 23 – Blinds: 10,000/20,000 (ante 3,000)
Most of the action at the feature table has gone exclusively preflop. Jamie Lunt has been raising to 45,000 a lot and taking down a few pots. Every now and then someone will fire back with a three-bet and take it down.
A few of the short stacks moved in too, and someone finally called one.
Ping Lin was down to 190,000 again and moved all-in from the button. Weiran Pu asked for a count from the big blind and then called. Pu showed A♣ 5♣ , but Lin had a dominating A♠10♠.
The 6â™ 2♥ 9♥ 4♣ 6♣ board brought some low cards and a few clubs, but not enough to give Pu the advantage. Ace-ten took it down and Lin doubled up to about 420,000 while Pu dipped to 790,000. –AV
5:40pm: Win for Lin
Level 23 – Blinds: 10,000/20,000 (ante 3,000)
Ping Lin has escaped the danger zone now after doubling up through Shyngis Satubayev.
Satubayev button-raised to 45,000 preflop before Lin shipped all in from the small blind for 127,000. Satubayev flicked in the remainder but quickly saw he was dominated.
Lin: A♣ 9♥
Satubayev: K♣ 9♦
Lin was in great shape and he held through the 5♠J♦ 7♣ J♥ 5♥ run out. He doubles while Satubayev dips to 950,000 in chips.
5:15pm: Take a break
The final six players have stepped away for a 15-minute break.
5:05pm: Satubayev up top
Level 22 – Blinds: 8,000/16,000 (ante 2,000)
Jamie Lunt raised from the cutoff and Shyngis Satubayev called from the small blind. Ping Lin was on the big blind and came along for the ride as well.
The flop came down A♣ 10♦ A♦ and Lunt bet 3,000 when checked to. Lin folded while Satubayev called, bringing a 3♠on the turn. Both players checked that card and then Lunt fired off another bet after the Q♣ on the river.
Satubayev called that bet as well and took down the pot with A♠J♥ . Lunt flashed a Q♦ and threw his hand into the muck. That hand now puts Satubayev in the lead with 1.1 million while Lunt dipped just below it with 960,000.
Weiran Pu is also up there with 900,000 while Jin Xin and Ping Lin both have less than 200,000. Ka Shing Wong is hanging around the middle with 550,000. –AV
4:50pm: Things starting to slow
Level 22 – Blinds: 8,000/16,000 (ante 2,000)
The action has noticeably dropped off since Dennis Huntly fell in seventh place.
His departure brought the average stack to over 40 big blinds so we haven’t seen many shoves or big pots in the last few orbits.

4:35pm: Dennis Huntly eliminated in 7th place (HK$223,400)
Level 22 – Blinds: 8,000/16,000 (ante 2,000)
That’s it for our start-of-day chip leader.
Dennis Huntly started the day up top, but he couldn’t keep that momentum going. Huntly lost a few pots early on and then lost another to Weiran Pu at the start of Level 22.
Pu raised to 35,000 from under the gun that hand and Huntly called from small blind. Ka Shing Wong did the same from the big blind and the flop came 10♠7♥ 9♠. All three players checked and then Pu bet 38,000 when the A♠came on the flop.
Huntly called, Wong folded and a 5♦ completed the board. Huntly check-called again, but this time the bet was worth 56,000.
Pu turned over A♦ K♠for a pair of aces and Huntly mucked. The hand put Pu up to almost 800,000 while Huntly dropped to 350,000.
Those went all-in from the button the following hand and Ka Shing Wong called from the big blind. Huntly turned over A♥ 7♣ and Wong tabled a dominating A♠Q♣ . Huntly needed to pair his seven, but the K♦ 5♥ Q♠3♦ 6♦ board brought Wong a queen instead.
Huntly finished 7th and won HK$223,400 while Wong chipped up to 730,000. –AV
4:15pm: Xin squeezes out some value
Level 21 – Blinds: 6,000/12,000 (ante 2,000)
Jin Xin has bounced back a little after rivering the nuts and getting a bit of value from Dennis Huntly.
Xin raised to 26,000 preflop and both Dennis Huntly and Ka Shing Wong called from the small and big blinds respectively. The flop landed K♦ J♠Q♣ and it was checked over to Xin who continued for 25,000.
Huntly called, Wong folded, and the dealer turned the 2♦ . It was checked to the 10♠river where Huntly checked a final time and Xin bet another 25,000. Huntly paid it off only to see Xin table A♠6♠for Broadway.
Xin scooped the pot and moved up to 340,000 while Huntly now sits with 560,000 in play.
3:55pm: Big win for Lin
Level 21 – Blinds: 6,000/12,000 (ante 2,000)
Our start-of-day short stack finally got it in. Ping Lin didn’t double though, he didn’t bust either. Lin tripled up.
The hand started off when Dennis Huntly raised to 26,000 from under the gun and Jin Xin called from the button. Lin was on the big blind and moved all-in for 103,000. Huntly called and Xin thought for a bit before calling.
The two non-all-in players then checked all the way down to the end of a K♦ Q♣ K♣ 10â™ 9♣ board and tabled their hands. Huntly showed 4♣ 4♥ and Lin turned over A♦ J♣ for a straight. Xin didn’t want to show his hand, but it was an all-in and the floor made him show: 7♦ 7♥ .
Lin tripled to about 330,000 while Huntly dipped to 560,000 and Xin was left with 220,000. –AV
3:30pm: Bjorn Wiesler eliminated in 8th place (HK$282,900)
Level 21 – Blinds: 6,000/12,000 (ante 2,000)
Not long after Tao Wang was eliminated in ninth place we lost Bjorn Wiesler in eighth spot.
Wiesler was down to just 191,000 and he moved it all in from the cutoff preflop. Shyngis Satubayev asked for a count from the small blind before moving all in over the top. The big blind folded and the cards went on their backs.

Wiesler: K♥ J♥
Wiesler was dominated and he couldn’t overcome the odds as the cards fell 9♣ 3â™ 9♥ 2â™ 8♦ . He headed to the payout desk to collect HK$282,900while Satubayev climbed to 470,000 in chips. –BK
3:10pm: Tao Wang eliminated in 9th place (HK$143,000)
Level 20 – Blinds: 5,000/10,000 (ante 1,000)
It didn’t take long to lose a player. Jamie Lunt raised to 22,000 from middle position a few minutes into the final table and Tao Wang three-bet to 100,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Lunt and he moved all-in.
Wang quickly called and tabled 9♦ 9♠while Lunt showed a bigger pair with Q♥ Q♣ .
The flop came 9♣ 4♦ J♣ and Wang jumped out of his chair and celebrate. Never celebrate before the river. Just. Don’t. Do. It.
The turn brought a 3♣ to give Lunt a flush draw and then an 8♣ came on the river to complete it.
“No!” Wang shouted. “NO!”
But the damage was done. The clubs were out there. Wang was eliminated in 9th place while Lunt took over the lead with nearly 1 million. –AV
3:02pm: Cooking time
Level 20 – Blinds: 5,000/10,000 (ante 1,000)
Things have properly warmed up and the final table is underway. There are still 14 minutes left in 14 and here is how the final nine have been arranged:

2:50pm: Preheating nearly complete
The HK$25,000 Warm-up is back on center stage and things are heating right back up.
Like an overpowered microwave at the center of the room, our final nine players are taking their seats to play down to a winner. They’re already guaranteed HK$143,000 and our champion will win nearly 10 times that with HK$1,414,700.
Dennis Huntly is currently in the lead, but Jamie Lunt is in hot pursuit. It’s still anybody’s game though. Here’s how the rest of the final table stacks up:
