The first ever PokerStars festival took place in New Jersey this week, the first time a PokerStars festival had played out on US soil since 2011. It seemed the absence did nothing to lessen some great stories, including that of the winner Jason Acosta, an amateur player who took a week off work to play and win the Main Event.
That he had to beat Mike Gagliano along the way made it even more noteworthy. Gagliano is still enjoying a breakthrough year that has included wins at the WSOP and across the US. He’ll be back. Meanwhile, as Brad Willis reported, Acosta was back at work first thing Saturday.
There’s more live action this week on the PokerStars Blog, this time from Macau and the ACOP festival.
A few hours ago Yuan Li won the Super High Roller event, which, as Howard Swains reported, featured some big hitters – including Paul Newey and Justin Bonomo — in what proved a lightning fast final table.
Meanwhile the 2016 ACOP Main Event plays on with live updates found here. There’s no need to miss anything.
That wraps up another weekend of results and news on PokerStars. As always send your questions and comments to us on Twitter: @PokerStarsBlog.
