It was one of those nights for Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren, one where everything went right and as a result all the chips ended up in front of him. The Swedish player has numerous EPT cashes and is a familiar username and icon at the tourney tables on PokerStars, and tonight he added a Super Tuesday title to his list of accolades.

It was a dominating performance, in fact, with Berggreen starting the final table with nearly half the chips in play and never once allowing anyone to come close to challenging him as he closed the deal, ending the tournament a relatively short nine-and-a-half hours after it began to earn a $78,174 first prize.

A smaller than usual turnout of 404 together created a $404,000 prize pool this week — still beating the Super Tuesday’s $400K guarantee. It would take about five-and-a-half hours for the tournament to race down to hand-for-hand play, with Berggren having already by then pushed ahead to grab the chip lead with 46 left.

Soon a short-stacked noeschi was all in with A♣ K♦ versus Gambler4444’s Qâ™  Q♦ , and while a king flopped a queen did, too, and soon noeschi was done and they’d reached the cash.

A little over an hour-and-a-half later they were down to 18. Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren had still been leading right up until they reached two tables, at which point micide surged into the chip lead (though wouldn’t be on top for very long).

ragAAAila19 (18th), edilson985 (17th), and YaaGy (16th) were the next players eliminated, each earning $4,040. Gambler444 — who won the Super Tuesday just a month ago — then went out in 15th, followed by Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes (14th), and earlgrey23 (13th), with those three picking up $5,050 apiece. Then newguy89 (12th), Leqenden (11th), and MAZACAR1E (10th) were successively felted, with each of them earning $6,060 for not quite reaching the final table.

With Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren again the pace-setter and having built a huge chip lead with more than 950,000 — nearly than four times the nearest challenger — the final table was underway.

Seat 4: micide (Germany) — 72,893
Seat 5: Ti0373 (Russia) — 110,112
Seat 6: Rui_pt20 (Portugal) — 61,516
Seat 7: Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren (Sweden) — 950,666
Seat 8: Sexylegggg (Germany) — 189,139
Seat 9: globeSP (Brazil) — 33,884

About 10 minutes into the final table, Sexylegggg opened with a min-raise to 12,800 from middle position, then it folded around to two-time WCOOP winner Ti0373 in the big blind who three-bet to 30,250 and Sexylegggg called. The flop came 9♠ 5♦ J♣ , at the sight of which Ti0373 pushed all in for 33,562 and Sexylegggg called once more.

Both players had pocket pairs, but Sexylegggg’s 8â™  8♥ was ahead of Ti0373’s 6♦ 6♣ . The turn was the 5â™  and river the 9♣ , and Ti0373 was on the rail in ninth.

Another 25 minutes passed, then with the blinds 3,600/7,200 dynamoM opened for 16,344 from UTG, then micide shoved all in from a couple of seats over for nearly 136,000 and dynamoM called, showing Aâ™  Kâ™  to micide’s A♣ Q♥ . The board came 7♥ 3♣ 6â™  K♣ 7♦ , giving dynamoM two pair and sending micide out in eighth.

Just a few minutes later Rui_pt20 open-shoved for almost 59,000 (a little over eight big blinds) from UTG with Aâ™  Q♦ , globeSP reraise-pushed from the cutoff with 10♥ 10♦ to scatter everyone else, and five cards later — 7♣ 4♥ 6♦ J♥ 7â™  — they were down to six.

They moved past the tournament’s nine-hour mark, then a hand arose that saw Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren — still enjoying a big chip lead — raise a little over 2x to 16,800 from UTG, then a short-stacked Sexylegggg push all in from the next seat over for just 22,227. It folded to Fitness_g who reraise-shoved for more than 214,000 from the button, and the blinds and Berggren folded.

Sexylegggg had K♣ J♦ and Fitness_g A♦ Q♦ . The board came nine-high — 6♣ 6♥ 3♥ 9♣ 6♦ — and Sexylegggg was done in sixth.

About 15 minutes after that hand Berggren was up over 1.56 million while the other four players were all under 200,000 when Berggren min-raised to 18,000 from the cutoff, then Fitness_g three-bet shoved for just over 100,000 from the small blind. dynamoM paused a couple of beats, then reshoved from the big blind for just over 155,000, and Berggren stepped aside.

Fitness_g had A♦ Q♥ but needed help against dynamoM’s K♦ K♣ . The board didn’t provide any such help, though, coming 2â™  9â™  9♣ 3♦ Jâ™  , and Fitness_g was gone in fifth.

A few minutes later Berggren raised again to 18,000 from the button. globeSP had been whittled down to just over 37,000 prior to posting the small blind, then pushed the rest in as a reraise and mrAndreeew called. globeSP had Kâ™  J♦ and Berggren A♥ 10♦ . The flop came Aâ™  2♦ Qâ™  to pair Berggren’s ace while giving globeSP a gutshot to Broadway. The turn was the 2â™  and river the Q♥ , and globeSP was knocked out in fourth.

That pushed Berggren up over 1.75 million while dynamoM had just under 150,000 and TanTanSWE about 115,000.

Soon TanTanSWE shoved all in from the small blind for 95,629 — about nine-and-a-half big blinds — with Aâ™  3♥ , but mrAndreeew had woken up in the big blind with A♦ Q♦ and was eager to call. The board came J♦ 2♣ 10â™  6â™  K♦ , and TanTanSWE’s Super Tuesday run was halted in third.

Heads-up started with Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren sitting with 1,908,760 while dynamoM had but 111,240 — a better than 17-to-1 chip advantage. They played a couple of small hands, and when dynamoM typed “deal?” followed by a smiley face, it wasn’t too surprising that Berggren didn’t respond.

However Berggren would respond on the third hand between the pair after min-raising to 20,000 from the button, then watching dynamoM push for 92,490 total — respond with a call, that is, and quickly, too, turning over Q♥ Q♦ while dynamoM had 7♦ 7♣ . A 5♦ 2♥ 9â™  5♣ K♦ runout sealed it, and Berggren claimed the title and first prize money.

Congratulations to Andreas “mrAndreeew” Berggren for a dominating performance, having led when the money bubble burst, built his lead further to be well in front at the start of the final table, then never being challenged on his way to victory.
