Jay Prasad is originally from Auckland, New Zealand, and now resides in Melbourne.

Prasad has no previous live results but that has all changed this week with him already locking up at least $30,000 with the potential to capture more.

Prasad sits second in chips after manoeuvring his way through the final 18 players. His most memorable hand was when he took out Ricky Lim by calling Lim’s all in and revealing his own pocket aces before another player even had a chance to make a decision.

Seat 3, Tu Lan (China) – 755,000

Tu Lan is the only international resident at the final table. He made it all the way down from China to play the event.

The young poker player had a great start to Day 3 when he eliminated both Stephen Sharp and Brendan Ng in the same hand holding pocket jacks to move towards the chip lead. A few hours later he would eliminate Daniel Gabriel in 20th place after his A♦ K♦ turned a flush against Gabriel’s pocket kings.

Lan will start today’s final table as the short stack.

Seat 4, Raymond Ou – 795,000

Raymond Ou only has a single live cash for $475 to his name but has well and truly eclipsed that no matter where he finishes today.

Ou caught a lucky break to survive right before play concluded on Day 3 when he moved all in with pocket fours and ran into the pocket tens of chip leader Ashish Gupta. Ou caught a miracle four on the turn to double through and stay in contention not long before the final table bubble ultimately burst.

He will be trying to run it up today after starting second-last in chips.

Seat 5, Ben McLean (Australia) – 845,000

One of the more renowned players at the final table, Ben McLean hails from Canberra. He’s the oldest player left in the running but he’s shown he can more than hold his own against the youngsters.

McLean’s biggest score to date came when he finished runner up to Jonathan Karamalikis in the 2010 APPT Sydney Main event where he cashed for $294,780.

McLean came out firing on Day 3 and was the first player to reach one million in chips. He eliminated two players holding pocket eights against ace-jack and ace-king to lock up the pot when he flopped an eight for a set.

Seat 6, Ashish Gupta (Australia) – 2,220,000

Gupta comes into the final seven as the chip leader after a dominating display saw him eliminate four of the last six evictees including Andrew Hinrichsen, Corey Kempson and Richard Zebrovius in succession.

Gupta has a very impressive resume that includes seven WSOP cashes as well as many scores here in Australia for a total of over $230,000. At least a fifth place finish today will see him amass his best ever result.

Seat 7, Shawn Lee (Australia) – 1,325,000

Shawn Lee is a local from Melbourne whose only live score was winning a Wednesday NLHE Nightly event here at Crown for $5,445.
