The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) welcomes its Macau leg of Season 6 tomorrow (26 October) with the inaugural Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) held at the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex in Macau.

The PokerStars Macau series runs from 26 October-11 November and features the HKD $100,000 (US $13,000) Main Event which boasts a HKD $10,000,000 (US $1.3M) guarantee. If participating PokerStars pros are any indication, the largest guaranteed prize money in Asia has not only attracted players from the Far East but has clearly received the attention of the international poker community (and if you’re interested in going then we suggest you take a look at our Macau travel guide and the ACOP website).

There are 10 members of Team PokerStars who have already confirmed their attendance with Brazil’s Andre Akkari being the latest to join Bertrand ‘ElKY’ Grospellier (France), Angel Guillen (Mexico), Eugene Katchalov (Ukraine), Celina Lin (China), Vivian Im (Korea), Raymond Wu (Taiwan), Bryan Huang (Singapore), Naoyo Kihara (Japan), and 2011 APPT Macau champion Randy Lew (USA).

The ACOP offers 17 days of poker action so here’s a quick look at the first half of the schedule.
PokerStars Macau opens with the HKD $10,000 Deepstack Championship tomorrow night which comes with a HKD $1,000,000 guarantee. The three-day tournament is an ACOP title event and allows re-entry to Day 1B for players who fail to advance to Day 2 from the Day 1A field.

The ACOP also offers several tournaments ranging from HKD $1,000-4,000 before the next ACOP title events on November 1st and 2nd where the HKD $8,000 Six-Handed Championship and $2,000 Rebuy Championship take place respectively. Live satellites to the ACOP will be running at PokerStars daily from October 26 to November 7.
