It’s fair to say we on Team PokerStars Blog get a bit excited about the start of a new European Poker Tour season. It’s a little like a kid waiting for Christmas, except once here, the EPT festivities last for a full nine months rather than be over in a day.

The waiting for this season is nearly over, and the first event of EPT Season 7 kicks off next week in Tallinn, the beautiful capital of Estonia. To help the season go off with a bang, a host of stars are turning out for the €4,350 tournament including new Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Selbst and Ville Wahlbeck, plus their colleagues Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Dario Minieri, Arnaud Mattern, Joep van den Bijgaart, Katja Thater, Matthias de Meulder, Michael Keiner, Luca Pagano and Alex Kravchenko.

Our Team Pros will also be joined in Tallinn by at least 120 players who have won their seat on PokerStars. These satellites are running until August 7, so there’s still time to try and grab your seat.

Others who will be taking part in the August 11-16 tournament include EPT Award winners from Season 7 such as EPT Berlin champion Kevin MacPhee, winner of the EPT Players’ Choice Award and EPT Snowfest victor Allan Baekke, winner of the EPT Achievement of the Year Award as well as Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo.

American online legend Shaun Deeb, who was in Tallinn last October for the PokerStars Baltic Festival, is also playing along with British pro Michael Greco, EPT San Remo finalist Michael Piper and Canadian Sorel Mizzi. Norwegian Vegard Nygaard is playing after winning his seat in the PokerStars Monte Carlo Nordic Pro promotion, while Jari Mahonen, Matias Knaapinen, Vallo Maidla and Kaspars Renga all won their seats at live satellites held during the second PokerStars Baltic Festival in June.

You’ll be able to follow full coverage of EPT Tallinn at the Swissôtel right here on the PokerStars Blog from next Wednesday.
