Celebrate 20 years of PokerStars with huge throwback series and unforgettable prizes
It’s a series of tournament that has been 20 years in the making. But it will be worth the wait.
Today we can announce details of The Big 20 Rewind. A series of 20 tournaments on PokerStars to mark 20 years of history, winning moments, and unforgettable stories.
From Sunday November 14 all the way through to Saturday December 4 we’ll be hosting 20 tournaments, representing a year from 2001 to 2020. Each one will honour a particular moment in PokerStars history.
And in keeping with another PokerStars tradition there are some big prizes to be won along the way.
In total there’s $5,500,000 to be won across the series, plus some huge additional prizes like an around the world holiday, an electric car, luxury watches and a SLAM poker package which will include buy-ins to must-play PokerStars events.
It all begins in a little under two weeks. Although technically speaking it starts in 2001.
That’s the first highlight year and we’ll be taking players all the way back to the first ever tournament held on PokerStars and re-running it.
If you weren’t online back then it will have the same $11 buy-in, and the same $100,000 guarantee. With a few bonuses to the winner.

- 2001 – Year of PokerStars $11 buy-in with $100,000 GTD
- 2006 – Year of the Sunday Million $215 buy-in with $1,000,000 GTD
- 2014 – Year of Spin & Go $10 buy-in with $150,000 GTD ‘
- 2018 – Year of the Platinum Pass $5 buy-in with $50,000 GTD
- 2019 – Year of the PSPC $25 buy-in with $150,000 GTD
On top of the anniversary tournaments PokerStars will end the celebrations with a headline event, The Big 20 Finale.
This one of a kind tournament takes place on Sunday December 5, a day after the Rewind concludes, with a $55 buy-in tournament with a guarantee of $5,000,000.
It’s not just events at the table that will mark this anniversary.
As well as tournaments and huge prizes, they’ll be a chance for the PokerStars community to get involved in The Big 20: Players Awards.
We’ve shortlisted the top moments in poker history, some familiar from over the years, and you can vote for your favourites from today.
