Last week, the ‘PokerStars LIVE Macau’ poker room completed ACOP Platinum Series XI from October 6-11, with totals of 664 players and HK$2,438,214 in prize money.

China’s Lante Zhang won the HK$5,500 Main Event – his second tournament victory in an Official Asia Player of the Year event this season – after defeating the 228-player field. Zhang earned HK$251,900 for his win.

Former Red Dragon winner Patrick Lee and No. 5 ranked KC Wong were amongst the 24 players that cashed in the Main Event. Lee and Wong were eliminated in 20th and 23rd place respectively.

At the end, it was an all-Chinese heads up battle between Zhang and fellow countryman Zongxin Liu. The 1-on-1 match for the title lasted for 90 minutes when the final hand arrived with the blinds at 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante.

Liu moved all-in with 575k chips and was called by Zhang (1.135m).

The board ran: 8♥ 9♦ 6♦ 3♠ 9♣

Zhang’s pocket queens held to seal the win for the 27-year old poker pro who made it be known that the 2015 Asia Championship of Poker (Oct. 30-Nov. 15) would be his next major goal in poker.

KC Wong won two side events (PLO, KO Bounty) to reclaim the No. 1 spot on the Asia Player of the Year rankings. Wong also extended his single-season record for final tables to 16.

Team PokerStars Pros Celina Lin and Chen An Lin (not related) both took part in the Platinum Series. Celina made two final tables including a 4th place finish in the 10k NLH event. Meanwhile, Chen An had a runner-up finish in the 3k NLH event.
