There were more familiar winners over night as SCOOP 2017 began to stretch its legs, with a new record set for Championship titles. Meanwhile there is a new name at the top of the leader board, which may change this time tomorrow, with four events to start today, with two more set to conclude. Read on to make sense of all of that…

Day

3

The headlines from the third day

You can take your pick of headlines today. Is it the eighth SCOOP win for Calvin Anderson or the SCOOP title for former World Series Main Event winner (and EPT winner since we’re counting) Martin Jacobson.

Anderson won SCOOP 13-H. As Jason Kirk put it, if you put Anderson within range of a SCOOP title he’s not going to miss. He was already the only seven times SCOOP winner, not you can call him the only eight-time winner.

Jacobson won SCOOP 8-H and you can read Pauly McGuire’s rather sublime account of this one by clicking here. It’ll make you want to log on and start four-betting light.

Jason Somerville made his first appearance in the money column, narrowly missing out on a final table in SCOOP 9-H. That was a HORSE contest, “where all the cool kids do their work,” as Somerville himself put it.
