We’ve been noting how the Super Tuesday fields have been getting bigger and bigger. It was in late 2012 that the weekly $1,050 no-limit hold’em tourney started drawing 500-plus player fields on a regular basis. Then last year saw the fields exceed 600 players on a number of occasions, including once drawing as many as 663 in March 2013 to set an all-time high for the tournament.
But here in 2014 600-plus player fields have become the norm, with a fifth straight occurrence coming this week. And this time a new Super Tuesday record was set with 688 players (!) coming out, thus building a $688,000 prize pool (way over twice the $300K guarantee). Not only that, there was no final table deal, meaning this week’s winner — Stefano “easylimp” Terziani playing from the U.K. — took away the biggest cash prize in Super Tuesday history, too, turning his $1,050 buy-in into a cool $129,344!
The top 81 finishers made the cash, and it ended up taking nearly five-and-a-half-hours for the money bubble to burst. BraveSoljaa was the unfortunate 82nd-place finisher after committing preflop with A♦ 10â™ and failing to improve versus rizih’s 4♦ 4â™ .
With 81 players left, rizih, slaventii009, and David “WhooooKidd” Baker occupied the top three spots in the counts. Meanwhile Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer was sitting just outside the top 20 with an above average stack.
Danzer would last another 45 minutes or so before slipping down to around 20 big blinds. That’s when he three-bet all in from the cutoff with 9â™ 9♣ but unfortunately ran into WICKED617 waiting in the small blind with A♥ A♣ . The board brought no help to the German pro, and he was eliminated in 44th for a $2,752 cash.
By the time they were approaching the seven-and-a-half-hour mark just 18 players remained gathered around the last two tables, with WlkRamb0 having moved out in front with more than 400,000, harrychung the next closest with about 375,000, and rizih still near the top with just under 300,000.
It would take more than an hour-and-a-half for nine more to fall. Svaeren (18th), Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves (17th), and Ole “wizowizo” Schemion (16th) each earned $5,160 for their finishes. Zachary “zackmorris99” Donovan (15th), David “WhooooKidd” Baker (14th), and MiniiPop (13th) made $6,536 each. And rizih (12th), SE-R DET (11th), and WlkRamb0 (10th) took away $7,912 apiece.
After nine hours and 15 minutes, the final table was underway.

They’d play for more than 20 minutes with no eliminations, then with the blinds at 5,000/10,000 a hand arose in which the table folded around to Kevin “Civell” Vandersmissen in the small blind who pushed all in with a stack of nearly 260,000, then RigasDinamo called all in for 130,743.
Vandersmissen had K♥ 7♦ while RigasDinamo had A♣ 5♦ . The 9♥ 3♥ 3♣ flop was okay for RigasDinamo, but the turn and river brought two sevens — 7♣ , then 7♥ — giving Civell a full house and ending RigasDinamo’s Super Tuesday run in ninth.
About 10 minutes later it was Sergio “zcedrik” Aido min-raising to 20,000 from under the gun, then the table folding to Stefano “easylimp” Terziani in the big blind who made it 51,000 to go. Aido reraised all in for 272,022 total and Terziani called right away.

It was a race, and five cards later — Kâ™ 4♣ 6♥ 3♥ 4♥ — Terziani had won it, sending Aido out in eighth.
The remaining seven made it to the 10-hour break, then about 10 minutes after that morans350 lost a tough-luck hand after putting t_cam21 all in with 8♣ 8♠only to see t_cam21 turn over A♥ A♦ , then watching an eight flop followed by an ace on the river. Take a look:
Just two hands after that morans350 was open-pushing for 53,497 (not quite four big blinds) from middle position with A♣ 9â™ and getting called by Stefano “easylimp” Terziani who had Jâ™ 7â™ in the big blind. The board came 10♦ 6♦ J♣ 2♣ Q♥ to give Terziani a pair and knock morans350 out in seventh.
A little while after that another situation arose that saw harrychung lose nearly all of a 400,000-plus chip stack after losing a preflop all-in with A♥ 9♥ versus Kevin “Civell” Vandersmissen’s Aâ™ K♥ .
A few hands after that harrychung was down to less than a big blind, but doubled up twice and had climbed back up over 100,000. Then after Stefano “easylimp” Terziani min-raised from UTG for 32,000, harrychung three-bet all in from the button and Terziani called in a flash.
harrychung had A♣ 10♦ but needed to improve versus Terziani’s K♣ Kâ™ . The board then came 2♦ 8♣ 2♣ , then 2â™ , then 8â™ , and harrychung was done in sixth.
They were approaching the 11-hour mark, with Terziani having built a big lead with five players left. Then came three eliminations in rapid order, and suddenly they were down to heads-up.
The first one began with easylimp raising 2x to 36,000 from under the gun, then WICKED617 pushing all in for 391,714 from the button and Terziani calling. WICKED617 had 2♦ 2â™ and was hoping the small pair would hold versus easylimp’s A♥ K♣ . But the board ran out Q♣ 6♣ Q♦ A♦ 4♦ to give Terziani the better two pair and trim the field to four.
A couple of short-handed orbits quickly passed, then it was easylimp again min-raising to 36,000 from under the gun, Kevin “Civell” Vandersmissen reraising to 95,250 from the small blind, Terziani making it 180,000 to go, Vandersmissen pushing for 773,168 total, and Terziani calling.
Vandersmissen had K♣ 9♦ and Terziani J♦ J♠. The flop then came 4♦ 3♣ J♥ to improve easylimp to a set, and after the 9♣ turn the Q♦ river was no matter, knocking Civell out in fourth.
On the very next hand, The Sudaka opened with a button raise to 36,000, easylimp reraised to 83,000 from the small blind, The Sudaka pushed all in for 522,678, and Terziani called.
The Sudaka had Q♦ J♣ and was drawing live versus easylimp’s A♦ K♥ . But the board rolled out 10♣ 7â™ 10♥ 4♥ 8â™ and The Sudaka was out in third.
That was the last hand before the break, giving the two remaining players five minutes to ready themselves for heads-up play. Stefano “easylimp” Terziani had the big advantage with 3,170,459 to t_cam21’s 269,541, which provided the context for a funny chat box exchange while they waited.

When play resumed t_cam21 battled for several hands, surviving all-ins while chipping up to 381,582. Then with the blinds at 10,000/20,000 t_cam21 open-pushed again and Terziani called.
It was Jâ™ 8♣ for t_cam21 and K♥ Q♦ for easylimp. The next five cards came 10♥ 4♣ A♣ 6♦ 4♥ and it was all over… Terziani had won!
Congratulations to Stefano “easylimp” Terziani for not only topping the largest Super Tuesday field ever, but claiming the biggest Super Tuesday prize ever awarded, too, of $129,344 thanks to there having been no final table deal.
