Blinds: 3,000-6,000 (ante: 500)

2.11pm: Did you double up son?
Bruno Launias made it 20,000 from the cut off pre-flop. Ludovic Harran then moved all-in from the small blind for 35,000 in total, showing Ah-7s when Launais showed his Ac-Kh. The board ran out 5c-7d (clapping from Harran) 9s-9c-Qh. Safely doubling through Harran shouted “Yes Papa!” That ends the level.

2.10pm: Drip, drip
There are 27 players on four tables and the rush of eliminations has slowed to a trickle. Most pots have been kept small; most all ins elicit folds from opponents; most players have more than 100,000 in chips and so plenty of play.

1.45pm: Chip leader, meet chip leader
“You are from Germany, right?” This is Jorn Walthaus chatting to Moritz Kranich, his new neighbour. “Yes,” Kranich confirms. “You were the chip leader, right?” Walthaus asks. “Yes, but I lost some. I have about 400 now.” “Oh, maybe I’m the chip-leader then,” Walthaus says. “I have about 400 too.” “Maybe you are,” says Kranich. It’s a thrill a minute.

1.42pm: Hoog the man
Michel Abecassis has slipped down the chip charts of late but just managed to claw a few back in a hand against Tristan Clemencon. That followed an earlier clash with Tomas De Hoog who had won successive pots against the Frenchman, costing him a chunk of black chips.

1.40pm: No Olaf-ing matter
Olaf de Zeeuw moves all in twice in succession. The first time he gets it through and picks up the blinds and antes. The second time he is significantly less successful. He gets knocked out. On that occasion, he runs slap-bang into Jonathan Azoulay’s pocket aces and his Kh-5h never catches up.

1.25pm: Holland dazed
Yesterday was a great day to be Dutch, with several of the orange army marching their way to near the top of the leaderboard. But today has been the precise opposite, with four of the Dutch players among the first ten eliminations, including the once-mighty stack of Joep van den Bijgaart. Dutch hopes now rest with Jorn Walthaus, Tomas De Hoog and Olaf De-Zeeuw.

1.19pm: Ulliott over 200K
Dave Ulliott just sent another player to the rail with the mark of aces branded across his brow. Xavier Detournel was the victim, calling Ulliott’s bet of 50,000, leaving him just a few thousand behind. On an Ad-Ts-2s flop Detournel moved all-in which Ulliottt called, showing his aces to Detournel’s pocket queens.

The queen on the river was no use. Detournel out in 32nd.

1.15pm: Blinds up
The first level of the fourth day is over. Thirty-two players remain at the start of level 18.
