The £500 no-limit hold’em EPT Ladies event is now past the halfway mark with 21 players still in the race for the title and a £9,100 first prize. Despite the unseasonably amazing weather outside the players don’t seem in a rush to assemble a final table quite yet.
We started with a field of 52, complete with Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree and Vanessa Selbst. They both departed before the field was reduced by half, but Victoria Coren is still flying the flag for them.
The Vic has taken on a new atmosphere. For once the football hasn’t been beaming out of every screen in the room and, in what must be a first, there is even a queue in the ladies!

Among the eliminations was short stacked Lorena Del Treppo, from Croatia, who ended her tournament in Level 7. Her A-K suited was called by K-J which hit trips by the river – a similar exit to her tournament in Madrid. Still smiling as she left the casino we are sure she will be back at a future event.
At the start of level 8, where the average stack is 19,800, and the blinds are 400/800, Carolaing Ramirez is runaway chip leader sitting on a stack of 37,000. Josefine Forssberg, sitting next to her, has 30,000 while on the same table Lynne Beaumont has an above average stack of 23,000. Victoria Coren is doing well with 25,000 and sitting opposite her is Collette Murphy who has just a little bit less.
The Vic is now packed with cash games running alongside the tournament and as we get nearer the final table. The interest is definitely increasing!
