EPT Monte Carlo: Aces no good

May 01, 2009

This day has started in a hurry, with two players getting knocked out with aces on the opening orbit. The first of those lasted no more than one or two hands: Ilan Rouah’s 6♦4♦ making a straight to beat Clyde Foe’s black aces.

The second player to take the walk was the Team PokerStars Pro Lee Nelson, who was the dominant force on day one, but who has missed the money. Nelson got it all in pre-flop against the PokerStars qualifier Leonardo Patacconi, from Italy. Patacconi had K-J and hit a king on the flop and a jack on the turn to send Nelson to the rail.
