What you’ll find out about in this article…

  • EPT Online this month on PokerStars.com
  • Running from 8 to 19 December 2021
  • Plus… new dates for EPT Prague

It may not be the European Poker Tour event we’d planned for Prague this month, since postponed due to the ongoing situation in the Czech Republic. But it is the next best thing.

A 6-tournament EPT Online festival on PokerStars.com, playable from the comfort of home, split into the main series and an EPT Online-Mini, but with prize money to put you on top of the world.

The series has all the hall marks of a typical EPT. They’ll be a variety of events played at a variety of buy-ins to suit any bank roll, starting at $5.50, and open to players from across the world.

They’ll also be guarantees. Big ones. Over $17 million in guaranteed prize money over the course of the 12 day festival.

And what would an EPT be without trophies? EPT Online will have those too. 20 of them in total, each as desirable as the ones held aloft at any EPT event.

Those are the headlines. Let’s get into the details.

EPT Online schedule highlights

The EPT Online festival starts on Wednesday 8 December and runs through to Sunday 19 December. And like its real world equivalent it sticks to the traditional live event programme.

You can find the full schedule here.

Like we said, they’ll be 68 tournaments in total, with buy-ins that mean almost all PokerStars players can get a taste of EPT action.

Among those will be some series highlights, mimicking the live EPT favourites.

  • $11 EPT Online Cup Mini with $150,000 guaranteed.
  • $55 buy-in Mini Main Event with $1,000,000 guaranteed.
  • $5,200 buy-in EPT Main Event with $1,500,000 guaranteed.
  • $1,050 buy-in The Return of Arena Championship with $1,000,000 guaranteed.
  • $10,300 buy-in Sunday Super High Roller with $1,000,000 guaranteed.

And while a Super High Roller event might be beyond your bankroll, they’ll be satellites running around the clock on PokerStars. They’ll provide a welcome and more affordable route into all EPT Online tournaments.

Check out the tournament lobby in the PokerStars software to get an idea of how to win your seat for a fraction of the original buy-in.

Giving something back

It’s a bit of good news after the postponement of EPT Prague this month. Like poker players everywhere we were looking forward to being back in the Czech capital for what has become one of the iconic events on the PokerStars calendar.

It might not offer the real sense of community that comes with being in the same enormous poker room, but we hope it goes some way to filling that gap.

Nothing beats a bustling poker room

We’re also especially aware that it’s not just players who missed out on a trip to EPT Prague.

We’re especially mindful of the many people who had planned to work at EPT Prague and who now cannot. Which is why we’re allocating $100,000 from the EPT online series fees to be paid to all Live Event Staff who have been affected by the postponement.

Back to Prague in March 2022

We can, however, offer some good news.

While we are not in Prague this month, we can announce that we will be in March 2022.

Today we can also announce details of the new dates for EPT Prague, which will now run from 5-16 March 2022 at the Hilton Hotel Prague, where we plan on running a safe and enjoyable event for the PokerStars community.

It’ll have the same familiar events, and even the same chance of snow.

“I am pleased that we have been able to adapt so quickly to the ever-changing situation and provide our players with new dates for EPT Prague already, as well as some EPT online fun and value in the meantime,” said Severin Rasset, Managing Director and Commercial Officer of Poker at PokerStars.

“We know that there is a huge demand from the PokerStars community to see our live events return in full and we are excitedly working towards that, but we must be flexible along the way to ensure our players stay safe and healthy, and the experience is an unforgettable one for all the right reasons.

The EPT returns to Prague: 5-16 March 2022

We hope that the upcoming EPT Online series will provide players with an enjoyable alternative this December. Good luck to everyone.”
