Home / Uncategorized / EPT10 Sanremo: The high rollers take their seats

As the Main Event trundles through its fourth day, those players with nothing to do will be emptying their pockets at the registration desk for the latest EPT High Roller event.

Sick of sunshine, gelato and sight-seeing, this band of have-a-gos will entertain themselves over the next three days for stakes reserved for only the most exclusive of events.

All that’s required is €10,000, another €300 to cover heat and electric, and some free time. Ideally three days, so you can play the final table on Sunday. It’s a buy-in identical to that of the Grand Final which starts next weekend. And this being a single re-entry event, if at first you don’t succeed, try again.

The prize pool is as yet unknown, but with plenty of traditional high rollers in town it should be worth the effort, with first place paying the kind of money that might just cover your bills in Monte Carlo.

Fabrice Soulier is the most recent High roller winner, having taken the Vienna title a little more than two weeks ago. He followed the likes of Thomas Muhlocker, Jason Lavallee, Ivan Soshnikov and Dominik Panka, all of whom have removed carriage clocks and family photos from mantelpieces this season to make room for new silverware.

Players will be taking seats throughout the afternoon, with registration open until 11.45am tomorrow. Already getting comfortable are Sorel Mizzi, Steve O’Dwyer and Govert Metaal, with Sergio Aido dipping his toe into the High Roller pool, while David Vamplew and Martin Jacobson also take their seats.
