Home / Uncategorized / EPT12 Malta: Niall Farrell picking up where he left off

By any measure Niall Farrell had a good day yesterday, ending it with 1.9 million chips, or nearly 100 big blinds.

One hand seemed to set up the day, a bluff that marked the start of his ascent towards the top of the chip count page.

“Yeah pretty much,” he said. “I got moved to the feature table, a really tough table, so I’ve been playing ab it tighter. But a pretty good day overall. I’d definitely take it.

Farrell had started the day alongside Mike McDonald one of several high profile names to bust out, along with players like Bryn Kenney, Ivan Luca, Thomas Muehloecker, Johnny Lodeen, Shannon Shorr and Faraz Jaka. Was this something that Farrell paid particularly attention to?

“It’s weird because most of the big names you’re friends with. You see them get it all in with an amateur, and personally you don’t want to see a friend lose but at the same time your bank balance is hoping the amateur wins. But I don’t pay too much attention to it.”

Farrell starts the day on the feature table and if everything goes according to plan he’ll stay there for some time yet.
