It’s not unusual to see the same faces here at PokerStars, the same top pros capturing titles and dominating weekly tourneys. But we didn’t really expect to see WhatIfGod back with such velocity this weekend. Not after taking down the EPT Online Main Event just a few short days ago. Maybe he’s making a statement? Watch out Astedt.
Here’s what went down this weekend:
- WhatIfGod continues divine run with HRC victory
- VladTheSlaye overcomes Grafton in Cooldown
- Javier Fernandez and “Bomber&Granater” win Sunday majors
- Sunday Million final table results
Just a few days ago, “WhatIfGod” overcame some of the finest poker talent in the world to win the EPT Online Main Event for over $1 million. That’s an amount that would have most of us sail off into the sunset, or at least declare a week off poker.
So strong is the Swedish pro’s dedication, that WhatIfGod came right back to the tables for a high stakes MTT session. This is a player who clearly loves the game.
WhatIfGod put on a spectacular display in the $1,050 Sunday HR. He had to make it through Christian “WATnlos” Rudolph, who also claimed a big piece of the EPT Online pie with second place in the EPT $25k event and third in the $10k event. another clearly dedicated player who wasted little time getting back to the action.
Rudolph eventually came third in the Sunday HR, with Russian “Futti18” coming in second. WhatIfGod claimed first for $62,443, one of the biggest wins of the weekend.
A few of these same faces made the final table of the $1,050 Sunday Cooldown. WhatIfGod was first off this time, while “Futti18”, themselves a WCOOP winner with over $4.8 million in online winnings, went on to take third.
At the top end of the table, Sam “SamSquid” Grafton from the UK took second for a total of $15k, and “VladTheSlaye” from the Ukraine came out as the eventual winner. Vlad claimed first for a total of $26,406, with $16k coming by way of knockout.
Austrian reg “Bomber&Granater” faced a tough final table in the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic, a table which included Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson (fifth) and once more WhatIfGod who, as though omnipresent, showed up to take fourth and bag a further $10k. Bomber&Granater prevailed for $22,819.
After two days of grueling PKO poker, “pabritz” from Brazil scored the final knockout against Romanian “tdr01” to pick up first place in the $530 Bounty Builder HR. tdr01 earned $41,708 for second. pabritz also took the same again in bounties for a total of $82,724.

The MicroMillions series has been catering to players at the micro limits, and the High Roller Club always pulls in the top pros. Sitting happily in the middle, and still providing notable action this weekend, were the Sunday majors.
Javier “que_te_crio” Fernandez, playing out of the UK, has a Stadium Series Heat win and some seriously lucrative COOP final tables under his belt. He came first in the Sunday Warm-up for $32,354.
“swordfish007”, also from the UK, won the $109 Cooldown for $28,716, with $12k coming from bounties. That makes nearly $1.9 million in total online winnings for swordfish.
“sphinmx” from Brazil won the $215 Sunday Supersonic, and not for the first time. They already took down the same tourney this year, for a similar prize. This time they earn slightly more than the last, $21,807 for first.
The $109 Sunday Million had 11,411 entries this week, making a prize pool of over $1.1 million and a top prize set at nearly $117k. “allan sheik” from Brazil had the chip lead when the tourney went on break, but with 94 players left there was still all left to play for, and allan sheik crashed in seventh.
After third place “korrinho” was eliminated, the two remaining players opted for a deal. “koltonb02” from Canada went on to take second for $91,846, and “kn0wlEdge911” from Malta, who’s previous biggest score was a $20k bounty builder win, earned $109,018 for first.
