Just look at Jason Mercier’s last 12 months.

He crushed the 2016 Spring Championship of Online Poker and finished second on the overall leaderboard. He won two World Series of Poker bracelets (and nearly a third one). He was the WSOP player of the year. He got engaged. He got married. He learned he was going to be a father.

And now…he’s just won the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $25,000 High Roller for $794,000. What’s more, he did it with his mom, dad, and wife at his side.

This was no easy game. The 116 entries included the world’s best. What’s more, Mercier had to beat Justin Bonomo to bank the top prize.

Here’s what the final table looked like:

Place Name Country Prize
1st Jason Mercier USA $794,600
2nd Justin Bonomo USA $556,800
3rd Loni Harwood USA $348,000
4th Anonthy Spinella USA $240,700
5th Olivier Busquet USA $153,700
6th Sam Soverel USA $113,100
7th Bryn Kenney USA $92,800
8th Ari Engel Canada $78,300
9th Jeff Gross USA $75,400

I mean, really. It doesn’t get much tougher than that.

Oh, and if this sounds familiar, it should. Mercier won this exact same event two years ago. If you didn’t think the kid is comfortable on his home turf, you might now be reconsidering your position.

You can read how the whole final table played out at the SHRPO live blog.

Congrats to Mercier on yet another astonishing accomplishment.
