jenyk1965 snags Twitter Poker League win

December 14, 2010

As always the Twitter Poker League was full of action this week, 1221 players competed for their chance at the $204.93 top prize and those precious leader board points. The chips going into the final table this week were:

Seat 1: derryjay (156985 in chips)
Seat 2: xsertx (185454 in chips)
Seat 3: w1s3guy32 (129071 in chips)
Seat 4: Householder (110936 in chips)
Seat 5: JhoexD (433803 in chips)
Seat 6: qlimali (211757 in chips)
Seat 7: slonic009 (226290 in chips)
Seat 8: jenyk1965 (191408 in chips)
Seat 9: Catchtheflax (185796 in chips)

This was very different to how things finished up:

1 jenyk1965 $204.93
2 slonic009 $148.96
3 qlimali $112.33
4 Catchtheflax $83.02
5 householder $59.82
6 JhoexD $47.61
7 derryjay $35.40
8 w1s3guy32 $23.19
9 xsertx $12.69

4 players offered themselves up for the #tpoker bounty, set at 300FPP per head and 500FPP for the final bounty player. Catchtheflax managed to claim the first bounty by knocking out toetype (@toetype) with: Q♠ A♣ for two pair, Aces and Jacks on the board of Board 8♠ 2♦ J♣ A♥ J♠ beatin toetype’s 9♥ 9♠

P0KER0CKSTAR (@Jhickson) was the next to go as Magsut got the better of his K♥ with 6♠ making a cheeky straight, Six to Ten on the river 8♠ 7♥ 9♥ 9♦ 10♠. A little while later our third bounty player Sjoukes (@Mc_Sjoukes) was felted by Sirius1988g. Sjoukes was dealt 9♣ 9♦ and unfortunately got it all in as a 4:1 dog vs the J♠ J♣ Sirius1988g, no luck for Sjoukes as the board came 3♣ 6♥ 6♦ A♠ 3♦ .

This left our fourth and final bounty player rivermenow (@zelljrc) with a 500FPP price on his head, determined to make the money and claim his 5 leader board points he hung in for a good while longer than all of the other bounties. After the cash bubble had burst he found himself: 7♦ 7♥ was the last hand he saw this week, and on a board of 6♦ 2♣ 8♦ 3♠ A♥ raudie63 claimed the 500FPP prize with a pair of aces with his A♠ 4♠.

Players thomasjanine and Danilo1012 (last week’s winner) are tied for second with 29 points each, making it an all German top three. Coucher11 still leads the league with 33 points. With only 2 weeks left this season the clash for the top spots gets all the more interesting. One win could change everything though – the 20 points for first place could put anyone in contention. So we hope to see you next week at the tables for more #tpoker action.

Here are some of our favourite tweets from the game this week:

@jaydee_97: “So I lasted to 62nd in #tpoker that’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick / watching telly”

@tpokerstars: “Congratulations to all players who just made the money in #tpoker, especially Pavel5 who was hanging in there with only 21 chips!” (?)
Last standing bounty player @zelljrc (rivermenow) “I’m almost positive I have you beat, but those 5 points are more important than this pot.”

@CMehring: “For the second time this hour Table 16 in #tpoker has had an AA v AA hand. Chop it up.”
