The numbers are in – a total of 508 entries in this tournament has created a seven-figure prize pool of $1,133,340. Of the 268 players remaining, 80 will be paid, at least $3,540, with the victor taking home a sumptuous $238,260.

In Level 7, the hour following dinner break, another fifty players lost their tournament lives. Here is a taste of the carnage.

On the first hand back Angel Guillén moved all-in from the cutoff seat (with the button still dining) holding Q♣ 8♥ . Unfortunately for him Alex “Bully” Manzano awoke with K♣ Q♥ in the big blind.

The gods were not in a sweaty mood, as the flop fell K♦ J♠ 6♥ . The 4♦ turn ended affairs early and Guillén made a sportsmanlike exit.

On the other side of the room, one of the most dangerous players in the field today, online marvel Joe Ebanks, played the hero.

The pot was raised in early position and two players called, prompting Ebanks to flat on his button. Both blinds came along. Even given the flop-loving field, six players in a single-raised pot is a rarity. All checked to Ebanks, who bet half the pot on J♠ 6♥ 5♠ . Only an older gentleman in the small blind called.

The turn was the 4♥ , bringing a second flush draw, and both players checked.

The river was the 5♥ and the small blind moved all-in. This sent Ebanks into the tank.

After a while he got a count, which was 14,700, about the size of the pot. Six players to the flop made it that much more plausible that one had hit it quite hard. Backdoor hearts had come in as had the most obvious straight draw.

Ebanks put all that aside and called with just Kâ™  6â™  . His opponent showed 7â™  4♦ and made a hasty anonymity-preserving exit. Ebanks has surged to nearly 50,000 amid comments of “nice hand” from observers. Don’t let this one get a hold of a stack.
