Antes are in play, commence button-clicking!

No such announcement was made by tournament staff over the microphone, but you wouldn’t know it by watching the play at the tables. Three-bets, four-bets, five, the meagre velocity of eliminations is accelerating in level four with blinds moving to 100-200-25.

Meanwhile a trend has emerged among the PokerStars Pros: busting and re-entering the tournament. Andre Akkari tweeted that his stack had risen back up to 20,000, but that it was on account of paying a four-figure sum at the registration desk. He, Nacho Barbero, and Christian de León are all currently enjoying their second bullet.

Akkari has not slowed down, however, drawing a seat on the direct left of Humberto Brenes, who himself sits on a mountain of chips. On The Shark’s direct right is Brazilian Pedro Cavalieri, who sports a big stack. He tangled with Akkari after raising an early position limper to 700 in the cutoff seat.

Akkari seized on this perceived weakness with a three-bet from the small blind, to 1,600.

Put some antes into the pot and watch the button clicking ensue, because Cavalieri made it 3,300. This was too good a price for his fellow Brazilian, who called.

The flop fanned out was a dry one, A♦ 9♥ 2♦ , and when Akkari checked to the raiser he faced a tiny continuation bet of 1,600, less than one quarter pot. But for someone out of position with air (presumably) in a four-bet pot, 1,600 was enough – the PokerStars Pro released his hand.

The unofficial number of entries has risen to 467 on the tournament clock in the meantime. Re-entering has proven popular, particularly among the dozen or so tables upstairs, where players can make a short waltz to the registration desk and be back in action in minutes.
