Around the world many nations are today observing International Women’s Day. While not a national holiday here in Chile, it is nonetheless widely observed as many are taking the occasion to celebrate the ladies in their lives with appreciation and love.

Four women remain part of the field here at the start of Day 2, including Chile’s own Monica Hadad who began with 33,500.

Meanwhile three women from Brazil are here as well, with Renata Teixeria beginning the day with the largest stack among them with 79,900.

They’re joined by Nayara Rocha who began the day with 69,900. Rocha has won many regional tournaments in Sao Paulo. She also collected a couple of Brazilian Series of Poker cashes last year, including an 11th-place finish in the BSOP Main Event in Brasília in August.

Finally Ale Braga is here, too, sitting behind a stack of 46,700 when the first hand of the day was dealt. Braga is coming off a recent victory in the PokerStars Women’s Sunday tournament just a couple of weeks ago.

Like the men in the field, all four would surely like to spend the whole of International Women’s Day playing poker — and tomorrow and the next day, too!
