For the next four weeks, the Stadium Series will be bringing incredible action-packed tourneys and undeniably seductive prize pools. The Heats kicked off with six tourneys at buy-in levels suitable for all. We bring you the latest results, plus more highlights from the weekend.
- Mike Telker wins high stakes Heat
- Arthur Martirosyan scores epic double in HRC
- “botteonpoker” and “BarracudaNL” among big winners
The Stadium Series got off to a roaring start this weekend. Two Heats ran on Sunday, each with three buy-in levels to make a total of six tournaments.
The Heat 01 events are currently on break, with less than 50 players remaining in each tourney. We’ll be bringing you daily updates of the Stadium Series, so check back tomorrow to see the results. Heat 02 were one-day PKO events, so the results are already in for those.
The $5.50 Heat 02-L had 20,480 entries, making for a prize pool of over $100k. “Bombey77” from Russia finished second for a total of $5,208. “JPMalicia” from Russia secured first place, adding $6,613 ($4,380 + $2,233 bounties) to their tally of low stakes MTT results and earning a 1322% return on their $5 investment. The top 100 finishers also received a ticket to the $55 Weekly Final.
The $55 Heat 02-M attracted 9,224 entries for a prize pool of $461,200. Team PS Pro “Prince Pablo” from Canada had a decent run, finishing in seventh place. “PopayeAA” from Canada managed to make it through the tourney with very few all-in confrontations, finishing second for $27,141 and picking up just $251 in bounties along the way. “mikimiki88” from Poland came out on top, earning $43,197 ($27,148 + $16,049) and scoring themselves a Stadium Series title. The top 50 finishers also received a ticket to the $530 Weekly Final.
The $530 Heat 02-H reached a prize pool of $629,500 from 1,259 entries, meaning huge five figure payouts up top. “KingKomeron” from Estonia rampaged to third place, picking up over $10k in bounties to earn a total of $36,802. “Faboulus888” from Austria, who’s wins include a 2018 WCOOP title, took second place for a total of $53,048.
USA pro Mike “munchenHB” Telker, currently based in Costa Rica, took down the event. Telker’s previous successes include a Sunday Million win, a WCOOP title and a WCOOP Main Event fourth place finish worth over $1 million. Telker adds $80,080 ($42,416 + $37,664) to over $10 million in online winnings, and can now proudly call himself a Stadium Series champion.
All the buzz is on the Stadium Series at the moment, but the Sunday majors and High Roller Club were still running all the usual action at the weekend, and there were still some epic highlights to pick out.
Most impressive was the almost freak occurrences of Arthur “mararthur1” Martirosyan‘s double in the High Roller Club. Martorisyan’s victories include two 2020 SCOOP titles worth a combined total of over $425k. This weekend, they won both the $5,200 Single Event and the $2,100 Sunday HR. Even more amazingly, both these events became heads-up battle grounds between Martirosyan and fellow Russian pro “hello_totti”, who themselves has a Sunday Million win under their belt, along with over $3 million in cashes.
The two players found themselves heads-up in both the $5,200 Single Event and $2,100 Sunday HR, and both times Martirosyan held strong to claim first place. He earned $115,217 in the Single, and $34,653 in the HR.
Congratulations also to hello_totti, who didn’t do too bad at all from the two second place finishes, earning $88,459 in the Single, and $22,146 in the Sunday HR.
Arthur “mararthur1” Martirosyan‘s combined total for double: $149,870
