A little bit more about the eight men who take their seats at the 2018 Macau Millions final table (words by JJ DeCeglie and Ben Wilson):

Seat 1: Max Menzel, Germany, 2,720,000

The final table’s sole German dominated a great deal of the Day 1C standard flight action and started Day 2 as one of the top five stacks. Menzel began Day 2 the same way he concluded his Day 1, right in the thick of the action and he climbed into an early lead. While he dropped off slightly as play progressed Menzel remained near the top of the counts and comes into the final table in the middle of the pack.

Seat 2: Zhouchang Xu, China, 4,345,000

China’s Zhouchang Xu is coming back to the final table fourth in the pecking order with a stack of 4,345,000. However, it took a lot of work to get there, with Xu beginning the day with a paltry 22,000. The Chinese player got busy early and climbed up the counts like Spiderman on steroids, running this up to over a million in chips by the first break of the day and never looked back. With over US$64,000 in live tournament winnings, Xu is in the hunt for his first title and will be looking to make the 2018 Macau Millions his break out event.

Seat 3: Fangjie Chen, China, 1,215,000

With no notable results to speak of on his poker resume, Chen is something of an unknown. Chen played a solid and patient game to get this far, and while he is a quiet presence at the tables he clearly knows his stuff and has ducked and dived at the right time to successfully circumnavigate the tournament minefield and reach the final table. As one of the shorter stacks Chen has his work cut out for him if he wants to become the 2018 Macau Millions champion, but this being tournament poker, anything can happen.

Seat 4: Chen An Lin, Taiwan, 5,665,000

Easily the most experienced player at the final table, Taiwan’s Chen An Lin is a familiar face at PokerStars LIVE Macau and boasts a veritable wealth of results on his poker resume for total live earnings of over US$819,000. Chen’s best result from a monetary perspective is an eighth place finish at the most recent Aussie Millions Main Event for US$141,434. In addition to this Lin also holds five PokerStars LIVE Macau titles. Returning second in the counts, Lin will certainly fancy his chances come final table time.

Seat 5: Wei Lin, China, 1,135,000

Lin is 254th on China’s All-time Money List. He’ll start tomorrow as one of the short stacks with 1.1 million to his name. Lin’s best result so far in his career came at HK$ 5,000 + 500 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event (Event #8) Asia Championship of Poker – Platinum Series XIV (ACOP), Macau, where he finished 2nd and took home HK$229,500. Don’t let the short stack fool you, Lin will make his presence known tomorrow, he is a gregarious player and will be involved in play and banter from the outset.

Seat 6: Xu Huang, China, 6,750,000

Huang played good poker all day long, and was amongst the top ten in chips for most of Day 2. He came into his own at the end of the day’s play though, involved in the monumental final hand of the day, a three-way all-in that lead to a double elimination when he threw down his pocket kings and became chip leader. He’ll start tomorrow in an enviable position, but has some quality players nipping at his heels.

Seat 7: Guigen Xiao, China, 2,615,000

Xiao looked gone late in the day. Down to about 400k in chips, but two all-in double-ups followed by some solid play straight after got him right back into the action, and now in contention. He’ll start tomorrow feeling good about how he handled Day 2, hanging tough and playing smart and should carry it through into the Final Table.

Seat 8: Aditya Sushant, India, 5,050,000

Sushant is a quality poker player. He was chip leader for much of today’s play and finished in a very strong position. Currently 6th on India’s all-time money list Sushant is the only WSOP Bracelet winner at the final table, winning the $ 1,000 No Limit Hold’em – Tag Team (Event #10) 48th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2017. Sushant cashed on multiple occasions in different years and is arguably one of the strongest players starting tomorrow.
