Well, you’ve never seen anything like this.

Today, for the first time in PokerStars’ online tournament series’ history, players will get a chance to play Zoom Poker in a tournament format.

Officially, PokerStars ran a cheap 11-cent beta tournament yesterday that drew more than 24,000 people. The turbo event took a little more than six hours to complete. Everything apparently went well, because in just a few hours the first-ever MicroMillions Zoom Poker tourney will kick off.

At 16:30 ET today, Event 4 of MicroMillions 4 will be a $5.50 Turbo Zoom Poker tournament with a $75,000 guarantee.

If you’re not yet schooled in the way of Zoom Poker, it’s not like your average poker tournament. You’ll get a hand at the beginning. If you don’t like it, fold and move on immediately. Don’t like that one? Fold and move on immediately again. Almost the entire tournament will go like that. Only when the event reaches the final three tables will the game go back to something you’ll recognize. That is to say, the last three tables will be played in a normal (read: slow) fashion.

First place in today’s event will be no less than $11,775. And if for some reason you can’t make it today, there is another MicroMillions Zoom tourney scheduled for March 17th and 9:30am ET.

So, go try it out. Who knows? You could be the first MicroMillions Zoom Poker champion.
