MicroMillions Event #99 was the penultimate tournament on a day which provided over $1,000,000 in guarantees for very small buy-ins. There were two events left to run after the Main Event was underway and #99 was quick $3.30 No Limit Hold’em Turbo which doubled its $30,000 guarantee.
The tournament attracted 21,234 players creating a $63,702 prizepool. 2,700 of those players would make it into the money and the winner would pick up $6,382.91
It took just five hours to eliminate all but nine of those players and the final table was formed when 96teruyaloco knocked out Travisek80 in 10th place with A♥10♠ against J♣8♠.
As expected, there was little post-flop strategy involved. The majority of hands were settled before the flop with shoves, folds, or calls. It isn’t surprising to see many crazy hands with those limited options, like the one below which happened on the final table bubble.
Final Table Chip Counts:
Seat 1: steveo432 (20,567,348 in chips)
Seat 2: KingPokerAZ (2,027,912 in chips)

KingPokerAZ’s reigh ends, eliminated in 9th
KingPokerAZ was stuck with very few chips over the last few hands of the final table bubble and did well to make the pay jump to the final nine.
Holding just two big blinds, KingPokerAZ put them in from middle position and Robertini14 called from the hijack. KingPokerAZ found a suited ace with A♥6♥ but would need flop the ace or a series of miracle cards against J♦J♥.
K♣4♠2♥ flop provided no luck for the double up and neither did the 8♦ turn or 6♠ river. KingPokerAZ’s time was done in 9th place for $382.21.
sukramt gives it a go, eliminated in 8th
sukramt did not have a lot of chips to start the final table and lost most of them to 96teruyaloco in a hand where A♣9♠ was no good against A♦J♦.
With less than the small blind remaining, sukramt took one last shot with A♣6♣ but was once again dominated by the A♥J♠ of I StackManz.
Things became desperate after the flop came out J♥8♦2♦ flop and sukramt was drawing dead after the 3♠ turn. Small aces were the downfall of sukramt and was done in the tournament in 8th place for $573.31
I StackManz gets stacked, eliminated in 7th
I StackManz picked up chips with the knockout of sukramt but only lasted a few more hands. The next big pot happened with I StackManz open shoved for 14,687,194 and steveo432 reshoved behind to isolate.
I StackManz: A♠K♣
It was the case of another hand being dominated and then having the flop just about lock it for the leader. It came out K♥7♣4♠ and steveo432 took a commanding lead and the 3♥ once again ended a hand before the river.
steveo432 moved into the chiplead and I StackManz was knocked out in 7th place for $955.53.
Robertini14 almost blinds out, eliminated in 6th
Robertini14 took an interesting path to make the last six of the tournament, barely playing any hands and simply blinding out while others were eliminated. The final hand came about with Robertini14 all-in from the big blind.
The entire table folded around until juanp7773 automatically called from the small blind with neither was holding a monster.
Robertini14 was alive for more than a double up with 8♦4♥ against 7♥4♦ and stayed ahead with the A♥3♠2♥ flop and te K♣ turn. The game ended for Robertini14 with the spiked 7♠ on the river and was sent out in 6th place for $1,592.55.
juanp7773 three-bets big, eliminated in 5th
juanp7773 was involved in one of the rare pots with multiple bets pre-flop. Chipleader steveo432 open to 3,360,000 and juanp7773 three-bet shoved for 4,286,261 total from the button.
96teruyaloco saw this action from the big blind and reshoved for another 21,000,000 and steveo432 thought better about playing the hand.
The three-bet was strong but juanp7773 was in trouble and found no help with the A♣7♦3♣ flop or the 3♦ turn. The J♣ river gave 96teruyaloco overkill set of jacks and juanp7773 was knocked out in 5th place for $2,229.57.
bayeristas10 mucks last hand, eliminated in 4th
The four remaining players spent a remarkable amount of time pushing chips around considering the stacks in relation to the blinds. One of the few major hands found 96teruyaloco taking a 50,000,000 pot off steveo432 with J♦J♥ over 8♣8♦ for the chiplead.
The next elimination at the final table provided an odd moment where no one knows what the losing player was holding. The tournament still had four players but no one knew the tournament would be over in three short hands.
Seat 1: steveo432 (22,465,745 in chips)
Seat 6: bayeristas10 (4,309,064 in chips)
Seat 7: 96teruyaloco (62,377,982 in chips)
Seat 8: Ivan169254 (17,017,209 in chips)
bayeristas10 moved all-in from the button for just under 4,000,000. Both 96teruyaloco and Ivan169254 called in the blinds.
Those two players checked down all the action on all streets when the board ran out A♣7♦4♥2♣10♦. 96teruyaloco rolled over Q♦10♣ for the rivered pair and the other two players mucked their hands.
Impossible to tell what bayeristas10 was holding (until the online replay) but they were sent out in 4th place for $2,866.59.
Ivan169254 straightened out, eliminated in 3rd
The very next hand saw 96teruyaloco raise to 5,500,000 under the gun and Ivan169254 moved all-in for 12,395,645 total. 96teruyaloco calld and Ivan169254 was ahead pre-flop but that meant little unless it held up.
Ivan169254 stayed ahead with the J♠9♣3♥ flop but the 10♦ was unkind, pairing up Ivan169254 while filling the gutshot straight draw for 96teruyaloco. There was no river card which could change the outcome and Ivan169254 was out in 3rd place for $3,822.12.
96teruyaloco finishes strong to win MicroMillions Event #99
Seat 1: steveo432 (19,340,745 in chips)
Seat 7: 96teruyaloco (86,829,255 in chips)
The very next hand was the final of the tournament and it was straightforward. Former chipleader steveo432 open shoved to the nearly 20,000,000 stack and 96teruyaloco called with an ace.
steveo432 tooks a shot but would need some assistance for the double up with the small suited cards. The 9♥3♦3♣ was no help but steveo432 got there on the 7♣ turn.
The tournament was all set for a longer heads-up match until the river came out with the A♦ for the last second bigger hand. steveo432 ran into trouble at the final table but finished runner-up for $5,087.24. 96teruyaloco hit the big hands when necessary and is one of the last MicroMillions 5 champions for $6,382.01.
