Breakdown of major series results

WCOOP

Niklas “Lena900” Astedt’s presence at the WCOOP has often been understated. Despite rising to the top as one of online poker’s most successful players, Astedt didn’t win a WCOOP title until 2018, when he came first in the 27-M: PLO event for $58,228.

This unusual absence from the top spots all changed in 2020, when Astedt picked up two WCOOP wins within the space of two days, becoming one of only a handful of players to pick up multiple titles in the series. Astedt won the 39-H: PKO High Roller for $101,250, followed by the 44-H: NLHE event the next day for $80,642.

We’ll be watching Niklas Astedt this year to see if he adds more WCOOP titles to his record.

SCOOP

Niklas Astedt’s SCOOP record has been a little more in line with what you’d expect given his results elsewhere, but it still took him until 2017 to earn his first title. He took down the 48-M: 5-Card NLO8 Zoom event for $22,457, demonstrating in the process that he is a versatile player who is proficient in more than just Hold-em.

In 2018, Astedt secured a SCOOP double, earning a whopping $102,115 in the 25-H: $530+R, then taking down the 39-H: NLO8 event a few days later for $50,392. Astedt earned his fourth and latest SCOOP title in 2019, coming first in the 18-H: FLO8 for $27,707.

Other major poker series

Niklas Astedt’s record also includes three TCOOP/Turbo Series wins, each of which happens to be worth $27k a piece. He’s also won a Winter Series event in 2019 for $23k, the BBS 53: Thursday Thrill for $32,235, and recently the Blowout Series 39-H for $44k.

Astedt also pulled through with a huge victory in the brand new Stadium Series in 2021, adding a massive $230,435 to his total and claiming his third biggest ever win.

Astedt has also had dozens of significant wins in the PartyPoker Powerfest poker series.

What about the Sunday Million?

The Sunday Million is one of the biggest weekly tournaments on PokerStars, and indeed online, offering a $1 million guarantee on a weekly basis. Tens of thousands of players enter this tourney, so it’s not unusual for top pros to have missed out on first place.

Niklas Astedt has never won the Sunday Million. He has, however, made the final table on several occasions, including a fourth place finish in 2014, a third place finish in 2018, and a third place finish in 2019, each worth a touch over $80k a piece.
