Getting a quick glance around the room, some notables already getting busy with their chips are Jae Chul Chang (Korea), Kristian Faering (Denmark), Dave “El Blondie” Colclough , Fevzi Erem Topac (Wales), Stefano de Caro(USA), and John King (USA). Amongst the local frequent flyers are Trifie Montebon, Benjamin Lim, and Joven Mente.
The past two days of this P1M Guarantee five-day poker series proved to be very successful with both events surpassing the guarantee. It began with a P200K tournament. A total of five seats was guaranteed towards the APPT 9 Manila Main Event Mega Satellite scheduled for Sunday, July 5. With 122 players and 44 re-entries, the prize pool ballooned to P273,734 and in the end it was Michael Kim Enriquez of the Philippines who reigned victorious claiming the P63,400 first place cash prize.
At the P300K event, a total of 116 players registered plus an additional 33 re-entries recorded to bring the total prize pool to P375,778. Christopher Mateo (Philippines) took down the event and earned himself the first place purse of P87,300. In addition to the cash prize, the top eight players of this event were awarded seats to the APPT 9 Manila Main Event Mega Satellite.
We will be back with updates so stay tuned! Good luck to all the players!
